TrackIR isn't supported officially, so what exactly is the issue?

Deary Me !
I like it so far. Lots to check but I was surprised to find I haven't lost AP sounds ( only tried 37 pro and Deltic ) also still have the SSS Black 5 and 7F. All these things are dear to me.
Menu I like. Do not really need " top tips ". Lots more to explore.
I even like the music. Now. But in a week ? Could change it for some Lonnie Donnigan ? If I knew how.

There are free routes available in the workshop, just check GB in in the selection box.
Also, anyone have or seen any example Scenario scripts available?

hehe, agree. Particularly annoying if you've forgotten that you've left it plugged in and starts vibrating away on the desktop case when you go over pointsFodda wrote:Oh and by the way, I've tried TS2013 with my Xbox controller and to be honest, THAT thing is truly "useless AND horrendously unrealistic".
As a side note, SBHH on Class 70 introduction for me, not even loading into the scenario

Re: Train Simulator 2014 has arrived.......
OK, verify done and, pleased to say that after a while, the new Sim loaded - without an SBHH (perish the thought!) but took an absolute age. (TIP: In the routes folder create a 'Store' folder and move routes that are not going to be required in to it. Amazing how much quicker the Sim loads!! One thing that completely threw me is that, even though I had only upgraded 20 minutes before I did the verify I got this message from Steam - "197 files failed to validate"Traveller54 wrote:Well, the upgrade started off well!
Went 'live' on Steam and the files came over pretty quick. Clicked the icon to start TS2014 and nothing seemd to happen - then AVG kicked in and said the Railworks.exe file was 'infected' and gave me the option to 'heal' it or accept it. I chose the latter and it deleted it anyway!!!
Now doing a verify to try and get it back ..... will report later![]()
Anyhow, have had a quick look around and, as I spend most of my time in the editor am most disappointed that two things which were promised to be looked at haven't:-
1) The fonts in the flyouts are still too small (particularly the error box.
2) The blooming scrolling text is still there without any control (RSC said to me in a PM that there would be?)!
I and many others have made a request for some sort of 'debug' utility to give at least an idea of what is causing an SBHH. Anyone found one?

Re: Train Simulator 2014 has arrived.......
But there are those like me who have not got a TrackIR, don't want a Track IR and am more than happy to use my keyboard and mouse. I cant see any reason why RSC should promote a silly and expensive piece of hardware just because you want them to? The makers of TrackIR should make it compatible. RSC should not have to do it.Fodda wrote:
And there speaks a fanboy who's never tried TrackIR in any sim.Every TrackIR user I've spoken to, and had contact with in forums wouldn't use a sim without it after 30 seconds of use. It's completely natural and gives such an incredible amount of immersion that we hate to not be able to use it.
Oh and by the way, I've tried TS2013 with my Xbox controller and to be honest, THAT thing is truly "useless AND horrendously unrealistic".

I have to agree with you John, it certainly looks better on my system.jarmstro wrote:Err............I don't think so at all. The sim look 100% better with the greater draw distance.Dave4468 wrote:

After the update, I was missing alot of textures in several of the freeware routes on my system, all the Laneshaw Bridge versions and the Skinningrove Ironworks to Boulby Mine was affected, but with the help from RW Tools it's sorted out.
I haven't checked all my other freeware route yet.

Re: Train Simulator 2014 has arrived.......
Just a quick note.
Please can this thread not descend into another long and drawn out argument over the pros and cons of TrackIR please. This debate has been made before, and as seen by no official support from RSC, there is no new ground to cover on this subject.
thanks,
haddock1000

Re: Train Simulator 2014 has arrived.......
I see that RSC have brought in a new file format for some assets LondonFavAssets.ap being one of them. Its packaged all the assets into one file.
Now for me that's annoying because I rename my driveable assets in a set formula to help me find stuff quickly. So unless someone comes out with a suitable .ap file editor its back to square one (or rather TS2013).

If you have an old b/u of TS2012 anywhere just paste and copy this file UI_ExpandPanel.dav from this folder tree "Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorCore\Audio" to the same one in TS2014 and you get the 'original' railsounds back!AndyM77 wrote:Personally I prefer it to the cow bell 'clanking' that we had to endure previouslyTraveller54 wrote: Last thing at the moment from me .... what the freekin L is that music all about?!![]()

How can I get rid of the rumbling opening sound other than just hit 'ESC''?

First issue for me: the typical XP error window pops up when I try to launch the new blueprint editor. Anyone here with the same issue ? I am using Win XP 32 bit.

Re: Train Simulator 2014 has arrived.......
Noticed my tunnels on L2B are no longer dark inside where they were before. Also think I've lost my Immingham route (yup forgot to back it up) it no longer shows in the menu but is still there in the files. Things have changed though, I used meardy weather and its now set to L2B weather in route properties. Not sure what else got messed with but fear its a loss. Good job I was only a month into it
Apart from that, runs as well as it did before so no complaints from me.
