I'm Back

Post by pacerfan »

After a hectic couple of months and an unexpected computer hiccup I got my new windows on the way with delivery imminent and that of course means that I am coming back TS sooner than expected (That being tomorrow via courier). "Sooner" is depending on the speed Steam will re-download Railworks.....so it is likely I will have to wait until Friday to get going. I have a bit more free time now, not as much as previously but enough so I can get enjoyment out of the sim. It just means I won't be able to a full 3-4 hour run in one go! But I have started to prefer nice short runs anyway, it also makes scripting nice traffic easier when you have a runtime of 20 minutes. Or a short branch that goes from a colliery to a yard, or a spur leading from a terminus to a larger station ala Cardiff Bay. Admittedly there is more scope for short and sweet trainsimming than I realized, so a question is anyone interested in routes that take 10 minutes to go from start to finish as I am likely to build a few with different themes such as a LNER DC1500 miniature Woodhead. That being it is sort-of like the real thing if you squint, still I am wondering if the idea has merit enough that other people would want the "mini" route

Oh I do have the patience as last time I moved installation it took six hours for it to fully install, and now I have 10GB more of content on my steam account. The Hiatus was due to some extra responsibilities at work and extended by me accidentally deleting my windows partition. It would have lasted until this December if I did not get q good deal from a friend for a copy of Windows 8 he accidentally bought.

I'm currently playing about with the old Llantrisant Yard to Cwm Colliery / coke works branch... ;-)

I think you're getting pacerfan confused with pacerpilot there.

As interesting as the Swansea District Line is tis sadly not my project, another member is responsible for it. but as for planned projects at the moment I only have some short branches with interesting twists planned, tentatively planned at that. Oh an finishing off my LNER EM1 With an appropriate cab so replacing BR on the dials with LNER, nothing major really 8)
