If someone would like to do some shunting with this loco with the AFB switched on and let us know how they get on?

I have great problems with the AFB

Haven't had any time to look at it but some upgraded sound files for the Taurus have been uploaded to Rail-Sim.de today.

What problems? I find activating and using AFB very simple with this lok, making fine adjustments with "E-R" works very well.

Yes I updated the sounds and after activating the battery you get a sound that suspiciously sounds like a car horn going past very fast!???? :-?

No problem with using the AFB to run the train but trying to shunt is not good. I apply the train brakes which slow the loco/train down but when I release the brakes the power jumps to halfway round the gauge before dropping back to off. I was attempting to couple to some stock, slowed to about 5mph, released the brakes and the loco jumped forward and rammed the stock.

When you apply the train brakes and the release them does it jump?

Well to be fair AFB isn't ideal for shunting nor is it designed for such? Just do it the old fashioned way fella!

Can anyone help

I have the Taurus and have downloaded loads of repaint add ons but have some scenarios for the Three Country route that demand other repaints.

Has there been a recent update to the base pack. If so reading the site I cannot see how to re download as it is so messy and confusing. Really need a tidy up as one cannot see the wood for the trees.

I am missing repaints like greenmobility, audi, a1, OBB 175 jahr.

I have loads of repaints and getting worried the folder size will start giving SBHH.

UPDATE

Looking through my original e mail I can see a link to the installer so am downloading this and am reapplying all optional bits again as some at least of the missing bits are there so maybe somehow they did not install properly. Fingers crossed.

Beginning of August was the last update
http://trainsimcontents.blogspot.co.uk/ ... -pack.html

To get the extra reskins that come from the developer, just run your installer again and choose the reskins you want from the list at the bottom.

Although depending on when you first bought the Tarus and last updated it, the install program may not work, it was updated and the original no longer works.
If that Is the case I recommend contacting them for a link to the newest installer (I think you will also need the latest version of Java).

Indeed, Dave is correct, I had to get in touch and they supplied me with a new link for an updated installer.

You don't need to write them, I think the link in the original email you received right after purchase still works and gives you the latest installer...

Just tried that sound update (did not install it, just played the files in a WAV player). This update is a complete nonsense (IMHO). Horns are no longer high and low (low horn has an empty sound actually - how do you switch the horns in the cab then?), the battery sound is a nonsense too, actually it was me who extracted this batter startup sound from a video a sent it to HRQ. Therefore I know how it should be and I can tell you that the sound of a passing train that appears in the middle of that updated battery_on file is a sound of the startup initialization sequence of the main taurus computer and it has no relation to the battery start-up. Other sounds may be OK, but either they do not offer any improvement at all or very little.

On the other hand the sound that I would definitely like to see updated is cooling.dav, but this pack does not include that one at all...

I was not trying to use the AFB to shunt - it was just switched on for the mainline run and set at 100kph.
I went from the sidings light loco to the station. Stopped at the reverse point and backed on to the train all just using the normal A&D ;&,
Having slowed down to 6kph for coupling to the train I released the brakes to couple and the loco jumped to 10kph+ and hit the stock.

What was your AFB speed set to at that moment, Peter?

And your power lever?
Locked
