Maybe the video was made with TS2013 rather than developer build of TS2014, and hence doesn't include anything new.RailX wrote:hello,
i personally don't think that we can expect "big" improvements.
simply, because you can't see any new features in the Hannover route.
hmmmm...maybe i'm wrong.

Its something of a no-win situation.chrisreb wrote:I am happy for the update and my only reservation is hoping that loads of scenarios do not break. I recall spending a few weeks loading masses of WCMLN scenarios to see which ones worked (about 60% only), and would not want to do that again.
If I remember rightly, the reason some scenarios no longer worked as they should was because the Dispatcher was improved in response to requests from users. There are many people asking for more changes to how AI traffic is managed so if RailSimulator.com do act on that there is every chance we will be up against a similar problem.

Is it just my eyesight?
Been thinking all day long what the new TS2014 technology could be,I decided to go and view the launch video Hamburg-Hanover launch trailer.
If the video is paused at 0:07 so the big building on the platform is in middle of screen, there is some very heavy blurring effects that i'm almost
sure I have not seen before, not that close to the camera anyway, having depth of field enabled in ts13 you could barely notice it.
Anybody seen this kind of blurring before?

Re: Train Simulator 2014 - 26th September
It seemed like a visual effect added in afterwards in a video editor to me rather than any in-sim effect. Also, RSC have confirmed on Facebook that the trailer was filmed in TS2013, so I wouldn't have thought that we'd have seen any new effects/features in this video.tads1970 wrote:Is it just my eyesight?

My only wish for TS2014 is that, the main menu which lists scenarios, reverts back to something in line with TS2012. I hate the way the scenarios are presented in TS2013.

Re: Train Simulator 2014 - 26th September
I do hope they improve features for Route Builders and Sceanrio Creators out there (though I do the odd scenario for myself, hoping to release a couple during TS2014).
Obviously other aspects that have been mentioned too.
Now, from a selfish point of view, what I would like to see, and I know it's eye candy... moving overhead wires and catenary arms - would just give it that great effect when an electric train whizzed past at speed whilst viewing in Key 4/8 Camera mode. Obviously we wouldn't see this in current routes, but something too look forward in future ones....

I don't know.. As critical as I've always been about RSC, the revamp of the menu system in TS2013 was one of the bright spots for me.. I liked it from the beginning.bGriff wrote:My only wish for TS2014 is that, the main menu which lists scenarios, reverts back to something in line with TS2012. I'm quite happy with the sim as is. My only wish is that RSC give a complete overhaul to their beta testing procedures and include more scenarios with DLC

I would like the option to turn off the dlc advert slide show and have the old route loading screens back, a MSTS style consist builder for make quick drive consists also the ability to create your own quick drive route paths in the scenario editor.

Re: Train Simulator 2014 - 26th September
I recall RSC saying on FB at some point that they will be looking at the detail distance, so that the trees on those long US routes show on the mountains further away. Right now they pop up embarrassingly late.

Re: Train Simulator 2014 - 26th September
Amen.. I loved doing it, and from what birdies told me, they actually did change procedures after I quit but.. History shows it didn't do a lot of good. They toss out pure near flawless beauty like London to Faversham one day then the Class 465 the next.. Two polar opposites of quality nearly back to back. Even till present day the Class 87 was sent out with frosted windows and took a month to fix it.msey0002 wrote:I'm quite happy with the sim as is. Re: Train Simulator 2014 - 26th September
Agreed, Bill. Recent routes have been absolutely incredible, London to Faversham, Hamburg to Hannover. But despite all this, they still let the little things let them down.
Re: Train Simulator 2014 - 26th September
Would be nice of them to fix L2B so that it doesnt have an SBHH all the time!!!! Its need proper portals too... etc etc!
