Reskinning models?
Aright, I'm only making a new one because I'm not sure that there's been one before and if there was, I had other things on my mind. However, having never reskinned before, is there a good place I can learn how to do it?

Try http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 17&t=79059, although written for an older version of the game the concepts are still valid.

Also see the 'pinned' topic at the top of this forum for details of the latest texture formats used by RSC and how to handle them - http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 0&t=129648

Re: Reskinning models?
I know it's been some time since the last post, but there's actually a problem: RWtools always fails to install on my computer every time I try to do so.
Is RWtools the only way to do it, or is there another?

There should be no reason that RW_Tools won't install on any computer. I have users with Windows XP through to Windows 8.1 and it works on all of them.Utahraptor wrote:I know it's been some time since the last post, but there's actually a problem: RWtools always fails to install on my computer every time I try to do so.

If you contact me direct via email to
rwtools at live dot com dot au
and give your full name, I will send you a free license so that you can keep trying.
Make sure that you install RW_Tools outside of the 'Program Files' folders, e.g. better put it in something like c:\Rail Utilities
Also it MUST be installed by running the installer as administrator (right click and select Run as administrator) and the program it self must be run as administrator by right clicking the RW_Tools.exe once installed and selecting Properties/Compatability and ticking the box to always run as administrator.
Please advise your operating system and exactly at which point it fails to install and any error messages you get.
