Re: More RWdecal woes.
Did you make a new route template? I know from my own and other's experience that picking the default route template and inputting the latitude and longitude is very hit and miss. If you've not made a new route template with the blueprint editor, I thoroughly recommend it as it really does make life easier and once you've done it the first time, it's pretty easy all the times after.

I set up the route with RWtools. This wouldn't be a default route template would it?

Re: More RWdecal woes.
Since we are on the subject, what is everyones preference for making decals? Do you prefer to draw a path in google earth and save it as a kml file or do you prefer to make decals in the traditional way?
I tried the first way that I just mentioned and found that some areas had been missed off as there was no markers for some parts of the route where there should have been.

RE making paths, I prefer using the kml path method, as you can describe a whole swathe of decals fairly simply. Working out the decal tile numbers is harder, so I usually end up printing a screenshot of the GE view of the path with no tile numbers, then adding them on in Photoshop later (the GE pin labels are too small for comfort)

I always use kml paths and create the decals with Jim's Decal program. (can't be bothered with having my posts moderated, hence avoiding the program's name)
Not sure what's wrong with using the F6 marker names when you're laying the decals in TS2013? Certainly they can be confusing at times, but as long as you make sure you're always pointing North it's not too tricky.

Re: More RWdecal woes.
I haven't used RWTools to set a route up myself, but I had a look at the Direct Route Setup and it might well use the default route template, although it looks as though you can specify another template in the lower field. I honestly don't know, you'd have to ask Mike Simpson in the RWTools subforum or check his website to see if it has a tutorial on his site that explains which template is being used when you use the tool.callum1122334455 wrote:I set up the route with RWtools. Re: More RWdecal woes.
The problem I had when I did it this way was that some of the labels seemed to be missing when I pressed F6. So I ended up with gaps in the decals and it looked like a patchwork rughertsbob wrote:I always use kml paths and create the decals with Jim's Decal program. Sometimes the markers need a jumpstart. Toggle them & the labels a few times and they should all pop
