Bungee Couplers?

Post by OrpheusRocker »

After I stopped laughing, I made this. (Best watched full screen)

I can't be the first to see this. What did I mess up to cause it?

Interesting, but while I've not seen it before, I've seen plenty of strange things in this game so I'm not really that surprised. I haven't done much with coupling blueprints but it seems that every coupling in RW is infinitely elasticated, because they don't ever break. Therefore, in RW universe physics, materials don't seem to have an ultimate tensile strength. :P I think that if the tensile strength in the coupling overcomes the parameter "Strength" in the coupling blueprint, then it'll stretch to infinity and beyond. Not the biggest problem with the physics engine though, since if you tried operating like that on a real diesel electric loco then you'd probably kill it. I imagine several or all motors would blow out with such an incredibly high current and low back emf. :)

Ive had this before, its like towing with a rope or as you say a bungee. What i did to solve the problem i just changed the front coach, did you have to couple up to that train before the video starts? i found if a started alwready with the train it was fine. Cheers all

Guys,
You were both right.

Actually a patch for the loco. (Well spotted, by-the-way)

Yep. Aliens got to my head. I was convinced I'd applied that patch.

Once I'd remembered to clear the cache  , normality was restored :fadein:
Thanks for the reality check, guys. Hope I can return the favour some time. :drinking:

That links broken I'm afraid. Anyone know if the fix file is now located elsewhere?
