Where is the Adams O2 Tank??

Post by PWHolmes »

Downloaded and installed the O2 tank yesterday and thought I'd try to create a scenario - where is it????

I tried all of the obvious "blue-box" filters but it stubbornly refuses to appear as an available loco. The readme don't give a clue to where it is.

Some guidance anyone??

I have found the O2 but when I try to load one of the scenarios (cant remember which - sorry, something like Tourist 2???) I get a "Scenario failed to load" message followed by 5 statements starting "5plankwagon5plankIOW...." followed by Hocknulls2, IWC2, Hocknulls2, Hocknulls and IWC.

Do I need to load any more stock? I have down loaded the O2 and v6 of the route.

Also, where are the coaches? All I can find are the 4-wheelers that came with the original IOW route.

Plank wagons could be these (Karma99's) http://www.dpsimulation.org.uk/karma99.html (wild guess, might be wrong, but these are often linked to as they are still excellent free wagons :) )

Thanks, Andy but the only plank wagons I can find there are GWR. As good as they are, I cant see them being needed for the Isle of Wight.

Anyone got any other idea???

Sounds like they could be my repaints of Karma99's 5 plank wagon.

Thanks to all - I now have everything working.

I must say that I love this route - it is almost perfect. I am a bit distracted by the white sleepers but understand that this is a WIP issue and should be sorted out.

I do find the floaty flat people a nuisance though as they seem to drift out of platforms and flutter disconcertingly into the air. Can these be deleted at V7?

I do have a bit of difficulty with some scenarios, signals stuck a danger, routes locked against me etc but am experienced enough with TS2013 and predecessors to understand that this is often due to my lack of knowledge of both the idiosyncrasies of the basic software and the little tricks required to get scenarios to work sometimes. For example I have found that in the scenario where an O2 takes a winter coal train from Medina to Ryde, if you don't get a move on at the start, a shunt move from the headshunt towards you stops head on and locks up the route, and preventing access to the main.

If anyone has any other hints to make these scenarios run smoothly, can they illuminate me?

Superb route, roll on the next Version. Any idea what the plan is for detailing the rest of the lines, the area around Wooton in particular?

Paul,

Thank you for your comments. The next route release will have detailed route from Newport South to Ventnor West added to the already detailed Newport - Freshwater line (v6). Track laying in the next version has only just reached Ventnor West, so it will be a couple of months before it will probably be ready for release. After that the plan is to detail the Merstone to Ventnor (IWR) via Sandown. I suspect that the Ryde - Newport up-grade is a couple of years away.
The "floaty" people are the "standard" RS product that are used with their platforms. If they are deleted then coach doors will not open, if appropriate. If anyone has any better animated people that could be used on platforms that they are willing to share please let me know.
The "white" sleepers will be better in v7 as I have changed the "weather" to have the sun in the correct place for the IOW. They are still not perfect especially when the sun has a low angle. This aspect is still a WIP and any sensible suggestions welcome.
One tip for the scenario which starts at Freshwater is that for some reason the Yarmouth Siding points are set for the Siding and this prevents Causeway crossing signal from clearing. The point needs to be manually set for the correct route.
There is a similar issue with one of the scenarios which starts from Cowes where the Cement Mills siding points are incorrectly set which means that you are held at Medina Wharf. Again these should be manually set for the correct route.
You may ask why they are manual points rather than controlled, the reason is that shunting these sidings would be very difficult if they were, as the scenario builder would have to route the train in and out the siding for each move.

Hi Paul,
If you have problems running any scenarios that I created for the route drop me a pm or place a post on the forum and I'll have a look to see if I can identify/replicate the problem and if it's something that needs to be changed/improved then I can make changes and re-upload. One of the biggest problems is general apathy. People will run a scenario, find something not going right, exit and forget about it. If we don't know it's broke we can't fix it!
For a start I'll have a look at the priorities/timings for the trains at Medina in the Winter Coal scenario and get back to you.

Regards,
Graham
