I'm no longer a moderator.

Post by CaptainBazza »

Regretfully, I've tendered my resignation as a UKTS moderator. This was a personal Life decision and does not reflect in anyway on any persons connected to the site, or the hobby. I am continuing to support UKTS, as I do now, and will do in the future, by being a premium member. Hopefully, I will continue, as the whim takes me, to contribute various assets as I have done in the past.

While I may not have always agreed with certain views expressed, or decisions made, by members from time to time, I never let prejudice get in the way of any decisions I was called upon to make as a moderator. I always endeavoured to do my best for the site as required by the admin, and I have enormous respect for my fellow moderators, as well as the members and visitors who make this site such an interesting place to visit daily.

Kind regards to All,
Bazza

Always a shame to see a well-respected moderator step down.

It isn't easy being a mod, so Thank You for all you efforts over the years.

Oh, just as an afterthought, I know there have been rumours circulating for years about a secret dungeon in the deep depths of the UKTS establishment, where, allegedly, naughty posters are sent....unfortunately, I can neither confirm, nor deny there is such a dark place - I'm still subject to an NDA.

No, no, I'm not even going there.
Thanks for all your contributions, Cap'n. Always enjoyed, never ignored.

Never once did you invoke Godwin's Law.

Thank you, David, first, for not completing the rhyme, - secondly, for the kind words.

Re Godwin's Law, as much as I tried, I never had the memes to finish it.

Initially I was wondering whether this had any relation to Sutherland's Law, which was an old BBC programme.

But I then realised that Godwin's Law was in fact along the following lines:_

Godwin's law does not claim to articulate a fallacy; it is instead framed as a memetic tool to reduce the incidence of inappropriate hyperbolic comparisons. "Although deliberately framed as if it were a law of nature or of mathematics, its purpose has always been rhetorical and pedagogical: I wanted folks who glibly compared someone else to Hitler or to Nazis to think a bit harder about the Holocaust", Godwin has written.

Therefore the reference to Godwin's law earlier creates that very comparison!

Alec

PS Probably a bit too philosophical for early on a hot summer's day!
