Missing Moon Texture?

Post by matt1314 »

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to make a little run on the Seebergbahn today and had to see such a curious problem:

Image

Seems like the moon texture is missing. I have installed this mod: http://www.ferrosim.es/downloads.php?vi ... &df_id=185

But even after removing it, the moon does not show up. Anyone ran into this problem before?

Hi matt1314,

Yes I have experienced this problem as well, it is caused by the Scenario Route referencing an Asset from a different Route which it now cannot find due to RSC moving some of their 'original' Routes to new folders when launching TS2013.

The solution is to 'tick' the Route required for the missing Asset in its new locaton using the Object filter whilst in 'Editor' mode.

For your missing Moon, I would suggest trying 'ticking' the "Ruhr-Sieg" Route (now found under RSC), exit the Scenario, then re-load it and the moon should then be visible . If that doesn't work then try another Route.

Hope that helps.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, it didn't help ticking "HageSieg" in the Editor mode. I even ticked all default RSC routes like OxfoPadd or NewcYork and the Kuju folders as well but to no avail. I'm running out of ideas... :( Before I made backups from all folders which were modified by any possible environment mods. But even returning these to their default state (e.g. the entire RailSimulatorCore folder) did not help.

Maybe a verify cache might help.

Nah, solved this thingy. The problem was that I had another mod installed which replaced the "EuFictional.bin" file in Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\TemplateRoutes. This file pointed to the weather settings of the Ruhr-Sieg-Line (The mod can be found here, it's called "Seebergbahn linked with the weather from Hagen - Siegen"). But because I also had the Ruhr-Sieg Enhancement Pack by Bermúdez, it replaced the default Ruhr-Sieg-Line weather settings and added the new moon but didn't include the default moon texture in the *.bin files. So I had no moon texture, simple as that. Now reverted back to my backuped "EuFictional.bin" file and all is fine now. :)

Edit: After thinking about that, I noticed that my explanation doesn't really make sense as the file pointed to the correct weather settings, they were just from another route. So it probably could be that the skydome of the Seebergbahn route is too small for the new big moon from the enhancement pack.
