I have looked at the slip values as suggested and mine are still at the default level but my WLOS Black 5 couldn't pull the skin off a custard without slipping. Loco is unusable.

I wanted sound not physics changes.

What do I do next?
Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40GHz @ 4.60GHz,
Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 3072MB
Motherboard: Intel Z68 (Socket 1155), 8MB DDR3 RAM. On-board Sound
Windows 7 64
I Mean, that should do it?

Loco is unusable.
Thats odd, mine is fine, sure I have to be a bit careful but its certainly usable.

What settings for cuttoff and reg are you using?

The whole lot, I am well used to driving steam locos and at experimenting.

I am pulling out of Settle with 12 Mark 1's. Before mod this would build up speed gradually. With the SSS sound pack It cant get going at all.

.18

This seems like a workable value with a bit of challenge thrown in.

I was in the wrong file!

Ive just tried this myself (on Jetgriffs S&C) with the PR B5 using realistic driving setting. I had no problem at all pulling away, although it did spin, provided you pull away gently you can get upto speed fine. Seems realistic to me for such a long consist.

**edit**

Lol no, spoke to soon the 1/90 is causing issues, ill keep on trying, its rather fun :)

The WLOS Black 5s are in the Assets/Keithmross/Portroad/railvehicles/steam folder. Change the bin files for all 3.

Could I just check on the installation method please? Does one just double click on the installer, follow instructions, and leave it at that? It's mentioned there are three packages, which I can't find.
Since my supposed installation, I haven't noticed any improvement on the Black 5 sound on the Woodhead route. Have I installed correctly by just clicking on the installer?

Thanks

I don't seem to be seeing any of the issues with the WLOS Black 5's being weak on traction - i've only tried the default scenarios and those included with the SSS pack - but i'm having no trouble (as long as you are gentle with the regulator and use the reverser properly)

I love it! - add's a whole new level of realism
Why couldn't the steam loco sit down? - Because he had a tender behind.

It's easily adjustable in any case. I like to overload my scenarios...heavy trains are more fun to get going and to judge braking.

Hi David

The 3 .rwp's are put in your C drive, in a folder called steamsoundssupreme. Direct your package manager there to install the .rwp files.

Well, after purchasing this pack the `Black 5' has now gone from one of my least driven steam locos to one of my favourites - thanks to those involved. The challenge to get moving with a heavy train without slipping brings a whole new level of immersion IMO. We could do with this sort of physics change on the Bulleid light pacifics......might it come with the promised sound pack for these locos?

Once again - thanks.

Stu.
