approved by moderator???? FBI approval req.
why have my posts in 'video' shots have to be approved by a moderator all of a sudden... Have my clandestine actions finally caught up with me,,, does anyone else have to be vetted by the F.B.I or K.G.B or M.I.5 first.... am I in the wrong forums? It is RailSimulator is it not? Or have I crossed the borders into the realms of some fantasy land?

Certain normal everyday words have to be considered by a site admin before posts can be allowed. The list of these words seems to get bigger by the day, and I think everyone has fallen foul of this rule since it was all started. It's nothing personal... Comrade.

Now that a Standard 4, 5 and Clan have now come from the other place does that mean discussion of the DT and JT versions of those locos is now going to fall foul of the filter?
If only all problems on the big railway could simply be TAB'd past...

I can answer that. Some of those letters spell a type of locomotive produced by a developer who we are not permitted to mention.jetgriff wrote:it dont like p e a k f o r e s t

I personally feel some such restrictions are excessive but at the end of the day it is not my forum and those who run it have the right to run it how they wish. We are just guests and I'm content to comply with whatever requirements they feel appropriate as the "value for money" on this forum makes it worthwhile.
And if I don't like it I can just fetch my cap and coat.

I had a similar situation this week where one of my posts suddenly had to be approved by a moderator. When it finally appeared I found that a name of a certain loco type was replaced with '###'. This loco type is indeed, and so far, only available from a certain developer and appears to confirm what John (carinthia) already mentioned. I did not know the filter was that severe but now that I do know I will avoid such names. Not so nice but then again the owners of this forum indeed set the rules.

'Why is it that the railway station is so far away from the village?'
The local pauses for a while, then replies:
'They thought it would be a good idea to build it next to the railway line.....'

This is becoming a rapidly increasing problem and a source of very considerable annoyance, which is compounded by the number of prohibited words and engine class descriptions being progressively increased in direct proportion to the speed of production of prohibited engine classes. It remains to be seen how many loyal and committed members of UKTS will lose patience with the system as it now stands. Jeff is a leading freeware provider of several excellent routes for TS2013 and has been since the simulator's launch. South Devon Banks and Carlisle to Skipton (I designate it that way because it does go from one destination to another!) have given me lots of fun, and it is sad that his patience is being pushed to the limits. While I can understand the reasoning behind the restrictions it is hard to see how the present system can be continued, in its present form, in the light of an ever increasing number of prohibited words and terms.

And to which they need to apply common sense to. The reasons for the censorship are well understood, but the level of paranoia* of the site owners increases day by day.black8 wrote:Not so nice but then again the owners of this forum indeed set the rules.

seems "Freedom of speech" is to be lost in this mega multi million dollar industry called Train/Rail simming. I thought censorship ended when the Berlin wall came down, seems we are being dragged backwards for the fear of loosing a $$$

Really? It doesn't bother me in the slightest. There are far more important things in life to get worked up over.choccy wrote:This is becoming a rapidly increasing problem and a source of very considerable annoyance...
