Just Flight Easter Sale
Variety of stuff at reduced prices over at JustTrains
http://www.justtrains.net/category/east ... ore&page=1
Personally, I don't have the Newcastle-York Modern - is it any good?

Thanks for the head's up.
Tempted by the Voyager at that price....
ETA - anyone care to venture an opinion on the JT Voyager...?

Re: Just Flight Easter Sale
Voyager is one of the very best add-ons in the game, and I'm not even a fan of the stock in real life. Go for it, for sure

That sounds encouraging

Re: Just Flight Easter Sale
Good afternoon all,
Please excuse what may be a daft question, but are Railworks 3 downloads as offered by JT completely compatible with TS2013?
Many thanks in advance.

Re: Just Flight Easter Sale
I'd echo the comment about the Voyager. It's very well modelled, and makes good use of what's possible within Railworks. I'm not a fan of the real thing but for any present-day scenarios it's definitely worth having.
JT's checkout and 'My account' site are timing out at the moment - unexpected load on servers through heavy demand, according to a message they've posted on FB. 'Keep trying and you'll get through' is their response, and apparently they're boosting server capacity as I type.

good ol JT all is forgiven

Re: Just Flight Easter Sale
This JT sale is definitely much better than what RSC has offered so far.
Three questions about Voyager please:
1. Is it using any numpad keys? When playing on my TV I am using a special keyboard without the numpad section, would be a pity if I could not run the Voyager there
2. How demanding is it on FPS?
3. Anyone able to tell me if V can be found on S&C in real life?
Many many thanks!

Couldn't agree more. Pennies put aside for the RSC sale have just been spent on the JT Voyager...This JT sale is definitely much better than what RSC has offered so far.
As a new user, there is plenty of stuff I'm looking to acquire, but RSC aren't really encouraging me at the moment

Re: Just Flight Easter Sale
Now that's what I call a sale - York - Newcastle Modern and the Autoballaster for me. Whoohoo.

3. If the WCML is shut between Preston and Carlisle then the 221s can be seen there, or 220s back in the days of Virgin CrossCountry.Ximmy wrote:1 nojstange wrote:This JT sale is definitely much better than what RSC has offered so far.

Re: Just Flight Easter Sale
Voyager in S&C..only in diversions, ie. if WCML is under engineering possession. (deltic009 was faster..)
I also decided to spend on JT's sale and bought Newcastle & York Modern. Since i already had Voyager, i though that try it's scenario for the route. It started well, train arrived in york, i clicked 'in' and made the necesary start-up procedures, altho it would actually move, untillsome re-applying the reverser, some quirk in the simulation, no biggie...
But, once you get in speed, over 100mph and get double-yellow and start to brake...single yellow and still doing 80mph...and then comes red...and SPAD, altho no emergency brake application. And the same happened later on, and again i went straigt thru the red signal...and derailed on points.
So, what's wrong in this 'scenario'?
1) Voyager's braking characteristics? Can a 5 car set really stop under 2 miles using service braking?
OR
2) The route. If i recall correctly, there should be flashing yellows before 'normal' yellows when line speed is above 110 or something similar? Also, IIRC, there are flashing yellows in Great Western mainline (Oxford to Paddington). I can only wonder why Darren didn't used them in N&Y-modern. Not even sure, how simulators signals work in this case?

Re: Just Flight Easter Sale
1. Yes the brakes really are that good.
2. Flashing yellows only appear as an approach to a high speed diverging route where the normal practice of reducing to 10-25mph before clearing the signal would cause delays. I think you're getting confused with flashing greens which were designed to placate safety bodies for the running at 140mph on the ECML - it didn't placate them lol
