And a big thankyou from me, too. A very timely upgrade that many will have even more fun with (and in even more places!)

Kevin, Matt

Thank you so much for the update and the new sounds. The lobster was a firm favorite on the first version of The Port Road, and its great to see it back.

Your work is very much appreciated.

I tried editing the file but broke it! It must have been whatever I did because restoring the original file brought it back to life.

I can't be the only one having issue with Wheelies and Rock n Rolling :o

Wheelies when i go forward - And strange bouncing front to back when going backwards
Why couldn't the steam loco sit down? - Because he had a tender behind.

How are you driving it? It does bounce a little if you're too rough with it!

I was having a nightmare with it leaving New Galloway with 8 in tow last night, the thing was oscillating backwards and forwards so violently it was affecting performance quite badly!

I used it in an Aln Valley scenario and although there was wheelslip starting off,it ran really well the rest of the time

I changed the .bin file (thanks to Foggy) but got it wrong first time leaving a gap between the '_' and 'simulation'.I just copied his line next time.Works ok now.

As great as the model and sounds are I cant get the actual Mogul to appear :( since it appears for a brief moment when I place it but the second I go into Drive mode the loco disappears but I can click on the tender to select it and then drive it while the loco is invisible and the Cab and sounds work but not the particles and the Loco itself.

Ive searched and checked the .bins and what not but I cant seem to find a reason it goes invisible.

Normally when they go invisible it either says there missing or gives a SBHH but this does neither

That's an odd one, I just loaded no problem. Do you have the tickboxes in KNGtrains? As you say usually invisible means missing shape file or tickboxes

Thanks for all the comments. :)

Must admit that, although I've seen the loco bounce around a bit when roughly driven, I've not seen the severe bouncing around, mentioned here. I'll have another look at this.

I had missed the pressure problem and will issue a patch to fix this, shortly.

There is not a lot I can do about the cab/tender gap, I'm afraid, as this is 'hard wired' into the sim.

As for the missing loco, I'd agree with what Matt as suggested.

Cheers,
Kevin

Just wanted to add my thanks to this thread, and take the chance to ask a question: would it be feasible to clone WLoS's scenarios and replace any of the black 5's and use this loco instead?
Please make allowances to my ignorance, and thanks in advance for your kindness.

Yes - scenario cloning and loco swap-outs are easily done with RW Tools.

I have installed and driven the mogul yesterday on the 'old' S & C (jetgriff's) and I have also experienced some of the bouncing as mentioned here, though not too severe as suggested by some. Then again I was not driving on the WLoS route. For some reason it also seems to sort of 'dig in' the front end when under certain power settings. Also on tight curves/points the driving wheels tend to leave the track and are actually pretty much hanging in the air next to the track. A situation that in reality would derail the engine. It appears not sit too well on anything but straight track. Last I noticed that the safety valves indeed blow off at around 180 psi but I have no visual effect, i.e. I do not see steam shooting up from the valves. Now this maybe intentional; I just want to know.
For the rest I am very pleased with the mogul (or the 'Lobster', is that the nickname for this loco?) I particular like what looks like working lubricators on the right side running board, nice attention to detail, and of course the sounds and the different whistles that seem to become Matt's trademark.
