Birmingham 2010 V5
Jetriff
Just wanted to congratulate you on your latest update on the B'rum-Derby route.First Class effort to get the whole route (Bromsgove to Derby) done in such detail.I don't know the route personally but I traced it on a railway atlas that I have as I went along and you have got all the branch lines and sidings down to a T and what's more it loaded without a hitch.Well done.Scenario makers should have great fun with this.
Cheers

I second that. Superb route, very well detailed and accurate. Brilliant work! Two questions. 1. Do Cross Country Trains go into Birmingham New Street and then reverse out to continue their journey or do they use the slower line with a few stops, but reduces the need of the driver to change ends? 2. Where oh where can I download an East Midlands Trains HST and Mk3 coaches? I've looked everywhere for one. Also has anyone ever done a Voyager reskin in EMT to look like a Meridian?

Re: Birmingham 2010 V5
Hi, I deleted the old versions of the route through RW Toolsa & reinstalled v5. Suddenly, I have a load of missing items, most of which refer to a Freeware Pack, which according to RW Tools should be located in .......Assets\UKTS_FP\Blocks and Lofts...........but what I can't understand is I have this FP installed, but not where RW Tools is suggesting it should be installed for this route !! Any ideas ?
Thanks
Steve

The UKTS freepacks should all live in:
..\\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\UKTS_FP
what is the full path to the directory on your PC?

Re: Birmingham 2010 V5
Hi Gary - Path to the folder is : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\UKTS_FP. The only folders in this file are : commercial; industrial, terrain textures !!! God alone knows where the FPs are located !! My "Update Packs" folder on my desktop tells me every FP is up to date & installed with the exception of the Great Central !!! Are you saying every FP should be in the above folder ? If so, I's better do a search of my "Steam" installation & try & find them & then copy them to the above folder.
Again thanks for help

Re: Birmingham 2010 V5
Yeah Steve, all the FP stuff should live there and copying the missing ones over would alleviate the immediate problem but could cause another issue. You'd then have the stuff duplicated, maybe duplicated because you have a single route where the author has had a non-standard UKTS FP install. However, as the .bin files for the assets should point to the UKTS_FP folder it's unlikely that anybody has spent the time editing them all!
I'd say it's more likely that you've made a small mistake when installing this pack (at least) and pointed the installer somewhere 'strange' so whilst it *knows* you have it installed and up to date it doesn't care where you have it located.

Re: Birmingham 2010 V5
Gary, thanks for your observations - I think you're almost certainly right. I cannot find where ANY of the FP's are installed. You may recall, I recently did a reinstall of RW3 & have NOT specifically reinstalled all the FP's, I think, I'm going to uninstall them, via the "update packs" feature & reinstall into the folder you:ve suggested - this may account for other minor problems experienced with one or two freeware routes, eg IoW network, China Clay for Export & Birmingham 2010 etc. Hope you think my proposed action is OK.
Actually, I think a lot of my problems have stemmed from my initial total lack of knowledge on how a partitioned HDD functions - I'm getting to grips with this now & slowly but surely, along with help from guys like yourself, eliminating many niggling errors.
Thanks again for your much appreciated advice,
Steve

Re: Birmingham 2010 V5
You can use the UKTS "Pack Updater" icon to see what is installed on your PC it will even identify out of date stuff and anything NOT installed and only looks in the ASSets folder.
Also in Win 7 Programs and features will be a list of what UKTS FP are installed on your PC

That would certainly get them into the location they're supposed to be in, so yes, you have my permission to continueequiglobal wrote:I think, I'm going to uninstall them, via the "update packs" feature & reinstall into the folder you:ve suggested - this may account for other minor problems experienced with one or two freeware routes, eg IoW network, China Clay for Export & Birmingham 2010 etc. Hope you think my proposed action is OK.
The game can be full of little niggling errors, but thankfully little niggly ones are almost always easy to fix, the hardest bit is often working out what should be where etc.

Re: Birmingham 2010 V5
I've managed to find almost all of the assets, if not necessarily in the location in which the route is expecting them.
However, there's one that has eluded me and it is:
\Assets\UKTS_FP\Railway_Buildings\j72\buildings\vechtr_krizany.bin
I don't have that file anywhere in my installation. I've tried repairing the UKTS_FP Railway Buildings installation but that didn't do it (there's still no j72 folder).
Any clues?

There should be.....so why you haven't got one is a conundrum. Check you have the latest version of the pack, it may be a recent addition.

Re: Birmingham 2010 V5
Strange.
The FP updater told me I already had the latest version and I had, today, already downloaded it again from UKTS and run a "repair".
This time I uninstalled the Railway Buildings pack, rebooted and reinstalled it. Now I have a J72 folder and the "missing" file.

Re: Birmingham 2010 V5
I think the asset is something old from J72, who is Josef from the Railworks Czech Republic team, if you haven't got the item in the UKTS freeware pack then get the asset directly off the Czech website and create your own folder J72 and pop the item into it, have a look on here - http://www.railworks.cz/drazni-budovy/
I think it's in this category, scroll down the page and it might be the last item called Vechtrovny.
