Good to see my station lights going to a good cause. :D

Sorry to be the first to ask Jim but what dependancies will be required to run this already excellent looking route?

Congrats so far! I wish I could give you something to help you through those last miles, it sounds like it may be near hell!

I was going to ask for screenshots of Colchester but you delivered already! I'm also from Colchester and grew up hearing the sound of the 86's. So it will be amazing to be able to relive those moments and make some realistic activities :)

Oh I just thought of a request for screenshot.. My house! ;) haha!

Gav, many of your fine assets appear in the route and thank you as always.

Dependencies wise:
Depending on what you have it may be good news or not so good.

First off I intend to release a version of the crouch valley as a standalone with no dependencies required
All freeware will be included. This will purely be the 16 miles from Wickford to Southminster.
I felt this would give people a feel for it before they buy other routes.

For the full 150 mile Great Eastern, the list is a little extensive but I feel it's worth it for the end result

Right, breathe in .....you will need ......
Isle of Wight
London to Brighton
Edinburgh to Glasgow and
WCML north

My reasons are for lots of brilliant assets but also scenarios using the class 86, 170 and 379.

For those that don't have the above hopefully a sale will come on steam soon.

Thanks for the list - it's a lot less payware intensive than a few other routes! :) And looks to be a great drive. Thank you for sharing

When this Great Eastern route and hopefully the Wherry and Bittern lines are released (pleace confirm gypbrc that you are still working on this as its all gone quiet) I will be in 7th heaven as I used to live in Gt Yarmouth and travelled to London on many occasions.
Saving up my pennies in excited anticipation.

Need a little advice re sounds if I may. Thought I'd post here as its re the route.

I'm trying to change the under bridge track sounds for echo etc but finding there is nothing to select and it states unchanged!

I mainly used the Oxford electric track rule. When I select the Oxford track all the sound options are there.

However when I select a Newcastle piece of track (that was laid with the Oxford track rule) no sounds are available.
This is also true of a few sections of Bath track I have used.

Can anyone please advise what file needs altering and how, so all sounds can be added

Thank you

It is because you are using a track section that is not referenced in the track rule. While this isn't a problem for most things, as you have found it does mean that you cannot edit the trackbed rumble.

I think the most feasible solution would be to (temporarily) add the Newcastle track to the Oxford track rule. As you don't have the source file for this you'd need to do it by editing the .bin file in RWTools or using Serz.exe and an XML editor.

Thank you very much for the help. I used RW tools to rewrite the Bin file and have now been able to change the track sounds.

Many thanks again,

On another question for all, does anyone know is it allowed to record railway annoucements at stations and put them into this route or are there copyright issues?

I would like to have some station annoucements but just not sure if its allowed.

Hi Jim - Creativerail use real station announcements on their Peterborough - Newark route, as do Justtrains on their Bristol Exeter so perhaps an email to these people will tell you if you need permission. It certainly sounds impressive on these two routes.
