Quickdrive consists in RW Tools?

Post by class313 »

I have been trying for ages to create quickdrive consists using RW Tools, but it never seems to work. They appear in my source folder (but not developer folder), but are missing the .xml, and appear far too small (about 7kb, instead of about 18kb for an identical consist created in blueprint editor), and when I load up the blueprint editor, they appear as corrupted(I think), with a red circle with a question mark next to them, and cannot be opened. I have created a brand new rolling stock index in case that was to blame, read through the guide word by word, but to no avail...Any idea's anyone?

Here's how i've done it...

1- Point RW Tools by clicking on the top 'options' tab. Eg. for my 156 consists it was Assets---Oovee---BRClass156pack01---Preload. if you don't have a preload simply create an empty folder in the (2nd?) folder after ''assets'' entitled ''Preload''.

2- Index only the desired class of loco/unit, as opposed to everything, having only a small chunk to work with makes it easier. Do it through this method...
-Select the desired folder
-Check the box 'Rolling Stock Only'', then click ''Add to list''
-Then 'save stock index'
-Close the window

3- You should now be back at the main screen with a selection of Tabs again. Click ''Scenarios'', then ''Build QD Consists/Fragments''
-You should see the list of stock you indexed. Select what you see as appropriate for a consist by double clicking each vehicle.
-Click ''Build QD Consist'' under the ''Build Consists'' Tab.
-Fill in the appropriate information
-When 'Ok' is pressed, provided that RW-Tools is pointed to the correct preload folder, the consist should be built.

Have a read through and give this a try.

Richard :)
