Hi

Thanks Doug.

Unfortunately the changes in voltage required is a bit too often and rapid for a Train controller.

This one has 'Jumped the Que' .... its a Dinky model, single door Atlantean









I've put in on an old brass chassis , as the body is quite heavy.
Drilling and filing was hard work too ( they didn't skimp on metal at Dinky)
Again it could do with a coat of paint .... I don't think its original Dinky finish ... but I thought it looked quite a good re-paint.

Hi

Got the Budgie C5 coach completed.
It wasn't glazed .... so did the best I could do..... original front has side angles as well.

Used a Brass Bus chassis .... which I didn't want to cut ... so there are a few washers under the rear screw.... and it sticks out a little at the rear.

Interestingly the original 'big tyres' are about the same size hubs .... but catch the brass chassis.
So I may try turning them down a little on an arbour .... because I think they might look better than the small Minic tyres.

Hi Jon,
Looks OK to me!
Does the overhang at the front impact approaching vehicles on corners. I bet it looks good on the corners though, travelling forward before it turns in.

Thanks ... yes it looks good on the turns.... swings nicely..... its a nice re-paint with transfers (better than I could do)
You're right though all these 'overhanging' buses cannot pass other vehicles on the corners.
The Atlanteans are the worse, and the Dinky one could do with some larger tyres to support the gimbal.

Nah!

That's just a Mk1 Cortina with different panels at the back and reworked wings and grill.
You've been done mate.
And I'd check the nose weight on that caravan as well.

Did you see the George Gently TV series with Martin Shaw? His Seargent John Baccus drove a nice sky blue Corsair.

Your doing well with those conversions. Producing a lot more variety for the Minic.

Hi Doug

Yes I really enjoy that series ..... I go past a nice Corsair, on my deliveries.
You're right about the Cortina bit
I think Ford just wanted to sell something a bit ' more up price'..... although the E version was very nice.
Minic caravans are very unstable... and with solid backaxles tend to hop around the tight curves .... best to go slow ... :o :lol:

You are progressing nicely making modifications to your Triang and Dinky Collection
My cousin used to drive a Corsair in the 70's
They were certainly quite a fast car
My favourite classic vehicle though is the VW camper van
They were fantastic

Hi

Christmas on the Triang Minic Layout

I've always loved the 'Swift' bus .... but the Dinky one is too big .... However 'Britbus' do an nice short version. :P







Black tape is temporary... holding chassis on.

I've been treated to a genuine Road/Railer


Also got an Albion tanker to convert
