TSX - Distance

Post by Mr395008 »

Hi,

I seem to have a slight problem, the overhead line doesn't look right (It just doesn't look very clear) when I have TSX switched on, any ideas how to resolve this? I've attached an image to try and explain further.

Do you mean it disappears further out in the distance? Looks fine to me?

I think he is meaning the jagged lines of the OHLE.

I wish mine looked that good actually. :)

Am I right in thinking this is an ongoing problem with this sim?

I spent the weekend trying various graphics settings with TSX ON and I was getting the same as the above picture - the distance seeming blurred and fuzzy. I have now reverted to TSX disabled as my graphics are far superior and my fps is much higher. So I suspect this is part of the game engine - perhaps TS2014 will solve this.....

What anisotropic filtering have you set it? And view distance?

If users are finding the OHL fuzzy/jaggy try turning FXAA on on your graphics card in your Nvidia control panel.
That coupled with the FXA in the ingame graphics option does smooth things out.

Does the Nvidia Control Panel give you more control over the graphics "in sim" when running TS2013 than the Catalyst Control Centre for the ATI cards? Since a RW upgrade last year I have been unable to use Radeonpro to effect any visible changes on my Radeon Saphire 6870s, especially Vertical Sync. It had seemed to work previously. Catalyst Control Centre only seems to affect the shade and contrast of the colours. The jaggies are irritating, especially the OHLE posts, and the horizontal lines of wiring and bridge rails dancing on the screen until you are quite close up to them. Has anybody compared the two manufacturers when it comes to TS2013?

This patch in the library here: http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info. ... leid=28747 reduces the fuzzyness and blur in the distance. Although it pre-dates TS2013 it still seems to work.

Wow, then maybe the mod above may help, must admit that I haven't noticed it, but perhaps because my AA settings are only FXAA + 2x2, and am used to the not so perfect results one would expect at your settings?

If nothing else works you could try SweetFX-Configurator which installs SweetFX (an image improvement and teaking mod) and allows you to change various settings.
