I have been playing with the lighting effects which are now pretty good. However it would seem that the time the lighting comes on is linked to "DUSK" in the time of day asset files. This would be OK but the problem is that in some weather conditions it gets pretty dark before the official start of "Dusk" and the lighting would really be on.
You can advance the time of dusk i.e from 1800 to say 1700 (it varies with the season) but this alters the whole weather lighting pattern as well
Somewhere there is a setting which tells the game to start lighting effects at dusk - does anyone know where you can alter this or is this part of the core program?

Re: Lighting Up Time
It is possible to get the lights to come on early and still retain the early evening weather/sky colours. It does require editing of the time of day bin file and should only be attempted if you are confident in editing bin files. Needless to say..... backup the files before editing them.
In the Time of day.bin file copy the whole of the earlyeveningTOD section. This is then pasted directly below the earlyeveningTOD section before the duskTOD section. This copied earlyeveningTOD now needs to be renamed to duskTOD and the original duskTOD needs to be renamed to dusk_1TOD. You will then need to alter the times that the new dusk starts at and then change the time that dusk_1 starts. So if it is say it is Autumn, then earlyeveningTOD could be set to 17:15 for example, dusk(with the earlyevening weather/sky colouring) set to 18:00 and dusk_1 could be set for 19:25. These times are changeable to suit personal taste.
The results are that the lights come on while the sky is still showing the earlyevening sky colouring and a much more realistic look in my opinion. As dusk_1 comes into effect the sky colouring will reduce to the sky colouring for an Autumn dusk.
As the screen shots show it is possible to have lights on without ruining the weather sky effects. I have two more screenshots to show that the dusk_1 effect continues darkening the sky until the nightTOD kicks in, however it appears that I can only submit three screen shots in this post. Anyway I hope this is of some help.
