2 hours and 25 minutes later and I am at 61% of the 'Updating Content' stage... absolute joke. I can't do anything other than go on Skype, the internet or watch TV as it is hogging the CPU. I hate Steam.
To add to this I have the small pop-up menu stuck on (the one that appears when you click the Quick Launch Steam icon) and at least four people who have messaged me on Steam (I am stuck online).

Hi James

It looks like the process has already taken place, as the files I've highlighted are the ones that Steam replaces on your system for the old ones named *.ncf, which are no longer there by the looks of it.

If there's anything else Steam needs to do, I'd let it take it's course in good time.

Well, that was pretty painless :)

About 5 mins "Converting content" followed by about a minute of "downloading missing content" and away..!

Just click "Play" within the Steam client to get the process to start......... :drinking:

Took nearly 2 hours here to finish. Clicked on play and away we go. No great problems and unlike others who had long run times - it didn't seem to tie up too much CPU resource - I updated Winzip to the latest version and another piece of software as well as doing a few other housekeeping tasks and some general web browsing.
Kindest regards

Has anyone who's installed it found problems with their third party content, including third party mods like AP soundpacks and reskins? Just concerned that if it's converting things to a new format then third party stuff much not be in the correct format anymore.

if it was that big an update, then RSC's own stuff would need replacing, and wouldn't have been touted as a procedure that 'takes a few minutes'

AP addons still work fine. As do all of the Extra stock packs.

Just completed my 'conversion', taking maybe ten or fifteen minutes (most of which was disk thrashing rather than download).

Looking through the list of today's modified files, it has most definitely done an 'enforced' verify cache - all my 'fixed' cabcams, TractiveEffortVsX and vehicle.bin files have a new datestamp.

However, it looks like they're all in the same place as before, so off I go to overwrite them again!

Also a long list (64) of ScenarioProperties.xml... I'm less sure why those have updated.

Mines installed and working. Reskins are fine (my AP FCC 377s are safe). Now just have to re-install the soundpacks. Then again, do we know they would be changed anyway? Mine are gone from a previous cache verification, and I waited a few days to re-install just in case there was another "update", then didn't bother when I heard this was coming.

Still not sure if mines been updated or not. Is the update supposed to be automatic when you log into or start steam ? or do I have to do a verify integrity of the game cache to force the update. I've certainly haven't had any long download from steam in the past two days.

If it has been updated, what should I be looking for to tell if it has or not ?
