Re: Important information about SteamPipe

Post by Retro »

Whenever I try to clear the Cache I get an error that the program is still in use and cannot run. I have still seen nothing to indicate that anything has been updated. Whose fault is this Steam, RSC or me. :-? :-?
Still confused.
I have had enough just recently with TS-2013 and RSC so I will not be using it again.
Kind regards James.

Exit steam and then restart. It worked for me.

Mine is updating now, however it's sucking up all my performance and ability to run anything, so I'm stuck doing literally nothing for about an hour. :(

It restarted for me OK after I cleared the cache and ran just fine from then on.
I've actually hit the error, but its not so bad as the person posting on facebook put it, you hit clear cache in my case and it pops up with "error loading app (already running)" which basically means steam is starting the TS2013 .exe up before the last instance has cleared out of memory, not really a issue, just go launch railworks from the icon again.

Can you not even just reboot the PC, not load Steam when it comes back and then do a quick search for "blueprints.pak" and delete all of the files manually?

Hi Sean,
It has deleted the Cache but will not restart as described in the link below.
http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 5#p1620126
Steam does not load at Startup on my machine.
I just cannot be bothered with this at all. It should work as in the description given by RSC. With all the confusion on the last update before this one and the disgraceful behavior towards one of our members causes RSC to loose credibility as far as I am concerned.
Have Validated and restarted the machine and still the same problem.
Kind regards James.

Hi James

If that's the way you feel about the Steam upgrade policy and process, why not just take RS2013 off-line and cut the link to Steam?

That way, you'd not have to worry about updates, cache verifications or get stressed about it all.

This will require an Internet connection and a few minutes of your time
30 minutes later and I'm at 32% :-?

If you're really eager to play the sim, why not take RS2013 offline while you play it, then log on to Steam last thing tonight and let it do its stuff overnight? It would all be done by morning and you'll have lost no playing time.

My pc is in my room so the noise would keep me awake

I'm not too desperate to play it (honestly :D ) but I just thought it would be quicker than this. Not to worry 8)

2 hours and 25 minutes later and I am at 61% of the 'Updating Content' stage... absolute joke. I can't do anything other than go on Skype, the internet or watch TV as it is hogging the CPU. I hate Steam.
To add to this I have the small pop-up menu stuck on (the one that appears when you click the Quick Launch Steam icon) and at least four people who have messaged me on Steam (I am stuck online).
