You won't... the update process has only rebuilt the list of what you have, the files themselves haven't been changed (unless of course you hadn't been on line for ages and you also received any updates to assets) so the staus quo is restored.

Hi Numnutz

Until 2 days ago I was in the same condition as you, waiting for the update & nothing was happening.

Whether what happened was a pure coincidence or not I do not know but you could try it.

I had noticed that after an update some weeks back my desktop "icon" for TS2013 had changed,
it was no longer an RW type icon but more like a standard Windows icon which indicates a broken
or missing path, however it did & still does start the simulator.

To check something I went on to my Steam library page for TS2013, whilst there I RIGHT clicked on the
page & in the pop up window that appeared I noticed, "Create Desktop Shortcut".

This I clicked on & sure enough a RW type Shortcut for TS2013 appeared on my desktop.

The FIRST time I double clicked on this to start the sim, a pop up window appeared stating that the game files
had to be converted. Which it did, downloading some missing files at the end. The whole process took about 45-50 mins
to complete. I do not think the end part was a full verify cache as no files appeared to have been overwritten.

As I say could be just a coincidence but you could try.

Has anyone noticed in the main Railworks folder is a TS2013 icon which does not seem to used, it certainly does not start the sim?

Regards
Mike

The short-cut created by the program calls it through Steam, using the call steam://rungameid/24010. You can call the game directly through a conventional short-cut and it still needs Steam to be running but won't trigger a Steam response.
