From the other pics in that collection, I've got a hankering for a Caley 'Jumbo' 0-6-0 and one has survived and ventured onto preserved lines it would never have seen during it's working life.

Dumfries shed residents in 1960 according to a book I bought recently. It would be nice if someone build a Hughs Crab some day.

You could look at it that way jean-pierre, but a lot of users will already have all the relevant locos that are currently available. For new starters these things take time and good use of the many sales is the way to go, most RSC products can be obtained half price with a little patience.

I think you have misunderstood:
Those in your list I have coloured green would have not been seen on the route, or maybe very rarely.

You pay for the route because it takes a developer a long time to develop it.

You pay for extra engines because it takes developers a long time to develop them.

It is nice to have freebies but if we didn't pay for anything we would not have Train Simulator 2013. Microsoft abandoned their alternative as a non-viable product and we are lucky to have what we have still in production and with ongoing upgrades and improvements too. This cannot be done for nothing.

Those who can't afford every add-on can choose to wait for special sales deals or manage without and use different locomotives. It isn't as if it won't work without buying extras. Its just the same with other add-on routes.

I invite anybody who feels these things should be free to enter into the spirit and produce a locomotive themselves and give something to the community.

I don't think he was insigating he wanted rolling stock for free so you may want to lay off on the lines of "don't pay, don't get content or do it yourself" so harshly. I believe he's got alittle confused on what type of locomotives did run on the route and quite of the few of them wouldn't need to be bought.

Granted, not all scenarios will be packed out with multiple different DLC packages so their really isn't anything to worry about, plus the options of using workshop published scenarios means your limited to RSC published content so the actual payware list and cost total will be lower than a scenario put on UKTS which would probably use 5-6+ DLC packs to create a more prototypical and authentic experience in the scenarios.

Well I apologise if it read that way. The last three paragraphs are not aimed directly at Jean-Pierre but at a range of people that seem to be constantly complaining through this forum that they don't get enough free locomotives with this route, or that they should be given something other than a Black 5 or at the very least an upgraded Black 5 etc etc.

I really should stay out of these discussions because basically they constantly want something for nothing and it just isn't going to happen. Nothing I say will change anything though.

And it shouldn't be forgotten that there are already free-ware models of the 3F 0-6-0T, the Ivatt 2MT 2-6-2T and its 2-6-0 counterpart available through UKTS that work very well so, although the pay-ware models may prove superior, there is no need to rush to buy them.

Since I've already posted in this thread a hope of seeing an updated black five I'll take that as meaning me.

The black five is already announced as being included with this route so I really dont think it's unreasonable, far less wanting something for nothing, to expect that a new version will come with the latest bells and whistles.

It's also worth pointing out that most RSC routes have in the past come with something in the way of new loco's or rolling stock so, again, its hardly unreasonable, or indeed unexpected, that customers should be anticipating more of the same.

Looks like a new set of Mk1 stock is going to be included, with what looks like an RMB plus the maroon looks quite authentic in my opinion.

Rivets on the bufferbeam in those screenshots... I just checked the default Kuju Black 5 and the scenario pack Black 5 and they don't have rivets on the bufferbeam. Could this be an entirely new Black 5 external model? Fantastic stuff if it is!
