Donner Pass asset problem.

Post by Varney »

In the route editor I am trying to add some bushes from the Donner Pass route, however they are not displaying properly...

The assets in question are: DP Bush 01, 02, 03 & DP Bush Line 01, 02, 03.

Does anyone know what might be going on here? :-?

I remember reading that they go back to normal once you place them down and re-load TS2013.

Not working for me

If anyone has the Donner Pass route, would they kindly be able to test these assets and report back, please?

Derek answered this same question over at Trainsim route building forum when I pointed out that my route, which already used these assets, had shown up with new fluorescent red versions all over the place. He said that he had replaced these bushes with other bushes that he liked better, and had colored these older assets this color to help people to find the foliage that he felt were no longer needed. He also changed several other foliage assets, keeping the old name but changing the design. You will notice that the DP Ponderosa tree is now shorter and doesn't look anything like a Ponderosa anymore, and the DP White Pine been changed. He has been very up-front about discussing this, which is appreciated. The logic of handling it this way still escapes me since I have had to spend many hours removing and replacing these same foliage assets that were used throughout my very large route. I guess it could have been worse if he had simply eliminated them. Again, I want to commend Derek for speaking up and letting us know what he did and why he thought it necessary, whether I agree with it or not.

Hello all!

I have seen this issue too and while I was wondering about it, Derek spoke to me about this issue over Christmas and he plans on updating the pink textures when the other route fixes get put out.
Also, he made them pink so he could organise the route assets and remove items that were not needed so it ran better. :D

Other route fixes?
fixes for other routes or other fixes for the Donner route?

Thanks guys for a detailed explanation.

I was concerned that I had some corrupted assets, but as they are displaying correctly, I no longer need to report the issue to RSC.

Thanks again. :D
