Re: Another update, or download.
Just catching up on this thread (and drifting back on topic for a moment!), I too found quite a few missing items when I launched the sim, however I verified the cache when I got in this evening - 900+ files reacquired - and I've been happily rediscovering the 150 without issue since then.

Nope, ALL of the listed DLC items are still missing on my system. What a joke!firetrap1 wrote:Can I just ask if anyone has had there class 57 Rail Tours DLC, class 150 DLC, class 66 v2 DLC, class 101 strathclyde DLC and ICE 3 DLC reappear yet?
In the case of my Class150Pack, the ENTIRE "Thomson_Oovee" provider directory has disappeared!!!!!
Thanks RSC. Looks like I am going to have to perform a Verify Cache followed by the not insignificant job of reinstalling all of my third party items that affect the base DLC.
Do these guys have any idea how to run this update process? Removing DLC ready for replacement is OK, as long as the replacement occurs during the SAME update process. This business of leaving the DLC missing for days is just a very poorly managed and badly communicated MESS.
Grrrr

Re: Another update, or download.
Here's an interesting thing.
I decided to completely restore my Steam and TS2013 installations from my Acronis True Image backups as of Saturday Night, that's the 19th of Jan. This completely restores the entire contents of the disks so that both Steam and TS2013 think that the last time they ran was the 19th.
I checked all the 'missing' directories and they were all present and accounted for. So far so good.
I then bit the bullet and started Steam. Steam did it's usual startup stuff and my Game Library was eventually displayed.
The interesting thing is that NO UPDATE took place! Although the restored data for both Steam and TS2013 was back dated to the 19th, no changes have occurred to TS2013. No missing Routes or Assets. Maybe our friends at RSC/Steam have withdrawn this debacle of an update in order to have another crack at it?
Anyway, at least I have got back a fully functional, and complete, version of TS2013.
Thanks RSC

Re: Another update, or download.
Why blame RSC. Have you any proof it was there fault. I actually think it was a Steam problem. Some people are too quick to jump too conclusions.

Yah, fair comment.Trev123 wrote:Why blame RSC. Have you any proof it was there fault. I actually think it was a Steam problem. Some people are too quick to jump too conclusions.
However, if this cockup is down to Steam, then we, and RSC, have a serious problem on our hands. There is no way that Steam should be removing DLC, and not replacing it, without direct control from RSC.
So I'll modify my previous comment.
Thanks RSC/Steam/"insert other culprit here"

Well I have been lucky so far, no update for me. I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed.

I didn't notice an update either. Also, I backed up my copy having read this thread and then did a 'verify cache'. No files seem to have changed.

Nothing is free except sunshine, Jevon???
Have you never downloaded assets from the download library on this site??
I never paid a penny for any of them...not even a premium subscription...
regards Ted.

But Ted, the argument would be that whilst downloading your PC Will be using electricity, which you'll be paying for.

Re: Another update, or download.
This may not be relevant but i did not wish to download the update and i stopped it when it got to about 45mb i then just went into the railworks directory and ran railworks.exe directly and it even bypassed steam which i was unaware you could do im rather pleased!!.

Like I said, it doesn't bypass Steam. It requires the client to be open in the background.
