Someone has posted in facebook that the sd45 is missing. Seems like it's not just european stuff then.

Re: Another update, or download.
I wonder what the hell is going on! My Munich-Augsburg content folder is completely empty, apart from a few third party scenarios. No amount of restarting Steam seems to cause an update, and I don't want to do a verify cache as that will clobber all of my AP Sound Packs etc etc.Trev123 wrote:My Munich-Augsburg route is still intact. In the absence of RSC or Steam doing anything I have just copied the route content files for Munich-Augsburg back from my backup. I'll see what happens now.
Not impressed
Re: Another update, or download.
Do we have an exact list of what's supposidly updated. I know JB posted a small bit on the start but I would like the full list to see if I'm mising anything. Probably am but I won't know until I check. I revied the update last night and my Thompson B1 is still there, doesn't look like anything has changed on it at all!

Same here, no folders have changed but it says its downloaded 1.4gbytes? It's just paused now? Whats going on, has steam thrown a wobbly? Sooo many questions so few answers! Wouldn't mind but it has stopped me working on an scenario!

Re: Another update, or download.
I have just received a reply from RSC support regarding the various Missing in Action items.
Predictably the suggestion is to perform a Verify Cache. So no acknowledgement that there is, or was, a problem with Steam, or that Munich-Augsburg has in fact been updated.
Sigh

Re: Another update, or download.
My update did exactly that last night - so I left it, and this morning everything had been installed. Looks like patience was needed. I suspect this was a two stage update with a pause between the two parts - first part to delete files and folders, second part to install the new versions.smarty2 wrote:Same here, no folders have changed but it says its downloaded 1.4gbytes? My railway photos are now on Google + - links to the albums are in this thread http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=149558
Lots of steam and early diesels from 1959 to 1963.

Re: Another update, or download.
I wouldn't bother with a verified cache, I spent 2hours waiting for a verified cache to go through 31gigs of railworks installation last night, it downloaded something, didn't fix empty folders and proceeded to lock up the steam client over and over to I eventually could get in and disable automatic update on Railworks, so basically now I'm with TS2013 missing about 5 DLC and it'll remain like that for the foreseeable future.
Also, before people starting harping on the "backup backup backup!" line like brainless parrots. 1. This set of updates was unannounced 2. If it had been announced the omission of folder restructuring would probably have been ignored 3. I'm not going to backup 31gigs of install EVERY week just to ensure my install works perfectly fine when even minor updates manage to completely fudge the installation up every week.
My patience starts to wear really thin when this is happening week in week out for what is supposed to be minor fixes, not only does it waste my time by having to do a verified cache each time it breaks, which is taking up to 2hours now with 31gigs of content, it locks up the rest of steam so you cannot utilise the rest of your game library and the verified cache process uses most of your system so if you wish to do anything you else you cannot.
I wouldn't mind problems if it wasn't for the shoddy tech support and shoddy communication RSC has with announcing these changes or how they will effect your install, having ZERO warning about a update like lastnight is quite frankly unprofessional.

Re: Another update, or download.
I have recieved a response from Support, they seem to be in complete denial about the fact that there were any updates at all and say no updates have been given to Steam.

That fills me with confidencergreenrail wrote:I have recieved a response from Support, they seem to be in complete denial about the fact that there were any updates at all and say no updates have been given to Steam.
I logged on late last night and noticed a 21GB download so because of the late hour, I quit Steam and turned the computer off. Having read this thread I'm now dreading starting up Steam again.

Re: Another update, or download.
Some items have disappeared for me but I've had no downloads since restarting Steam this morning. I'm doing a cache verification but it's taking for ever. Two hours and counting and only 55% complete. At least I could get onto Steam this morning. It wouldn't even connect last night.

Re: Another update, or download.
Doesn't surprise me - they seem to have no idea what is in their own updates. When I contacted support regarding the missing career scenarios on the IOW and Munich Augsburg routes after the January 10th update they (support) claimed 'the only thing that changed near that time was the release of the ICE 2 which has had no impact on either the Munich Augsburg route or the Isle of Wight' which is clearly false. I wrote back to them pointing at the large amount of evidence on various internet forums that the update had in fact modified both route's scenarios and suggesting that there are some major problems with their procedure for testing and releasing updates if they don't even know themselves what they are updating.

Absolutely agree with that mate. I'm not impressed at all. And it's not like it's the first time either. All we can do is hope that someone at Steam/RSC wakes up and re-issues or fixes the mising DLC. As is often the case though, some people are affected worse than others. It's all so inconsistent.crumplezone wrote:I wouldn't mind problems if it wasn't for the shoddy tech support and shoddy communication RSC has with announcing these changes or how they will effect your install, having ZERO warning about a update like lastnight is quite frankly unprofessional.

Re: Another update, or download.
Just received an email. They have just learned of 'file reorganisation' taking place last night. And of course they told me to verify my cache. I will try it again, just to see what happens.

Re: Another update, or download.
I would really stress on not doing verified caches, its supports auto response to everything and doesn't work in the case of the missing DLC, I've already tried it again this morning and its doing nothing for it. RSC have to sort it out with steam and have steam re-issue the DLC again like the did before x-mas when DLC dissapeared for the V2, 08 and so forth.
It also alleviates alot of stress, especially when the support staff are only just learning now that a update went live, maybe RSC should revise its in studio communication policy to ensure all departments know what the heck is going on.
