Oh Well, before I activate Steam I'll do a quick backup. Glad I read this before doing so.

I'm just getting another update now. Is it deleting stuff then re-downloading in a new location? The amount of data being downloaded doesn't fit with lots of things being removed unless they are being replaced elsewhere? If so though I imagine it's going to break a lot of third party stuff if it can't find things where it expects them. Hope that's not the idea.

Having done a smaller update it's now doing another 26.2GB update, yet it's showing paused and won't let me unpause, infact it seems to have locked steam up.
Oh, now it's showing ready to play. This is weird, and a little worrying.

Ye, updating mine too, and it's a big one. Let's hope a lot of issues have been fixed SBH, missing portals/speed warnings etc on London -Brighton?

So yeah, 2hours after a verified cache, steam client now locking up everytime I use it, cannot use my other games, its already done the download and hard rebooting the computer isn't fixing steam. Thanks RSC.

Hi,

If you have installed any of the Tunnel and Bridge Occlusions you will find they don't work, so have to be reinstalled.

Can confirm that my Munich-Augsburg no longer works - the picture appears in the collection screen, but selecting it does nothing and the route does not appear in the single player menu. Will probably try a verify cache tomorrow, but I'm going to bed now.

Just had a look at the FL66 and the 57 Railtours. All activities default activities have also gone. If I try and of my own or workshop activities with these I get an error due to missing stock. Love the fact too that when I tried one of my other L-B scenarios that uses the 377, it did work but the AP sounds had gone which meant no horn. How hard is it to fix that bug? Not going to bother reinstalling all the AP soundpacks until they have given a clue what is going on though, as it's likely they will go again (whether it was part of the upgrade, or just the cache verification I'm not sure).

Why do they keep doing this without any announcement? I think Steam is a great platform however I also think its scary how files disappear. I am really interested in purchasing some the the AP sound packs but would Steam just delete them after an update?.

You would think RSC would put something on their website to say when an update would be coming and what exactly there are updating.

Yes, AP sound packs will delete after an upgrade if it involves the stock in question, and after a verification of local files (as it will re-download anything that has changed). The sound packs all come with quick and easy installers though so it's not too difficult to reinstall if required, and they can be downloaded at any time by logging into your AP account.

Just to add to the missing stock, Strathclyde 101, the B1 and the ICE3. My Munich to Ausberg route seems to work other than when I try and activity is gives an error due to the ICE3 missing.

I'd say personally that's getting on for £60 worth of DLC gone. Sure it will come back, but given no warning or explanation it does feel very much like i've been robbed.

I just had a ride on the Munich-Augsburg after the first 1.5GB update today - in which more than 8000 files was updated/replaced here. Now, it has started another lumb of an estimated 2 hour download, which will probably finish in about 10 minutes or so after a long pausing...

Suspence: Suspended... sure enough, it is updating the same files again and pausing at the same point.

Once it is back, I will take Steam off-line until the dust here has settled

Edit: Update: about 100 more new files in 2nd batch. Hmmm.

Had my Steam online now for the past hour, nothing seams to have happened here. What should I be looking for to see if anything has changed on my version ?

Yep, my Munich-Augsburg Route has gone missing as well!!! No doubt if I looked I would find other assets AWOL as well.

No activity from Steam here down under, other than the removal of said assets!

What on earth are these guys up to? :drinking:
