Re: Class 319 EMU
While I haven't got any sort of finalized list yet, there are a LOT of features I am looking into. My only question regarding opening cab doors- it's a decent amount of work, and I'd be happy to do it, but what function does it serve?
Re: Class 319 EMU
Extremely exciting!
Well I'd really like it for when you're at those terminus stations, or changing ends etc. Would look really nice to have the cab door slide open. I admit it is a pretty small insignificant feature and confess to not knowing the work required to allow it!
Personally it would just add to the simulation! I'd love it.
Good luck with development!

Re: Class 319 EMU
As far as I can see, it doesn't. The driver doesn't get in or out of the train so it's no use for standing at a station.GatwickSpotting wrote:While I haven't got any sort of finalized list yet, there are a LOT of features I am looking into. Re: Class 319 EMU
xguerra I was thinking more of at Termini stations when you're changing ends where the driver does indeed enter/exit the cab via the door!
I know it seems like a trivial feature, but I really think it would add a lot but perhaps that is just me.
Were you meaning on RW? I know there is no actual driver animation of this, but it would make things even more real for me!

I meant in Railworks. It would be an interesting feature but to me a bit of a waste if all it does is open and close and that's all.SPADTrap wrote:xguerra I was thinking more of at Termini stations when you're changing ends where the driver does indeed enter/exit the cab via the door!

Yeah I realised after posting that you probably meant in Railworks. I know what you mean but I've always wanted this feature if an EMU such as this came up!xguerra wrote:I meant in Railworks. Re: Class 319 EMU
Good stuff GS
As for the cab doors, you might as well do it anyway, I don't see much of a need for it but people like a bit of eye candy.
There's actually very little required to do it. Just create the animation for each door (I'll assume you know how to do that) and in the blueprint editor it's just a case of creating a control value for each door model, create a lever interface for both, fill in the transform names and reference the animations. The values of each control don't matter, controls for eye candy are done with the mouse, so min/max values don't matter.
I've done this for my electrostar and can confirm it works perfectly.

Superb looking model with the destinctive cab well modelled.
This has nothing to do with me obviously, but I hope you will be selling this rather than giving it away. The reason I say that is simply because you deserve remuneration for your work. You will have no shortage of customers either I imagine.
Have you thought of asking RSC for sponsorship? You would then be privvy to their partnership scheme and they may provide you with help for things like scripting and physics setup (they may even outsource this to Oovee for example) should your team not have the knowledge.
I hope you don't think I'm out of line or anything as I know nothing of you and your group's background but it would be superb to see this get to market and despite what we sometimes say about RSC they have a good track record of publishing talented community members' work (WCMLN and the 56xx immediately come to mind).
And no I don't work for RSC

Maybe opening the door would let more outside noise in, adding onto what the windows would do.
And I'd agree with publishing it thorough steam, I'm sure you could get AP to do sounds for a RSC release.

Hi all, thanks for the interest in regards to publishing- I've already got all that stuff sorted, although I won't go into details until later on in the project.

I'm glad you've got that in mind. It more than deserves to be payware.GatwickSpotting wrote:Hi all, thanks for the interest in regards to publishing- I've already got all that stuff sorted, although I won't go into details until later on in the project.
