Quickdrive

Post by johnrossetti »

I have started to use Quickdrive on some occasions when it suits but it gets a bit boring with only one type of train on the other line.

I remember reading a Quickdrive tutorial that mentioned the importance of a Preload Folder.

All the quickdrive routes have one and in them files exist with locos / consisist names that I assume Quickdrive uses.

My question is if I copy these files, say, from the Woodhead to the Brighton folders, will the Woodhead stock start appearing on the Brighton line.

Or is there more to it !!!

Cheers

The author of the QuickDrive consists has to "tell" for which route the QD consist is valid, which is defined in the QD consist Blueprint. See tutorial above.

So see above. Basically, if the QD drive consist is not valid for a certain route, then No. So you will have to assign the stock to the Brighton line.
If it is non-Steam stock, you can achieve this by converting the bin of the QD consist into XML, add the ID of the route, and convert it back into a bin (Backup first ;-) )
But that's not all. The consist must be suitable for the route. Electric stock will never show for a non-electrified routes.
I even believe to remember that if only a certain part of the route is non-electrified, the QD will not show. But I am not totally sure on the last.

Can tell which route is valid for the consist, but the game actually don't cares about it. Only cares about the electrification (non electrified, 3rd rail, pantograph, etc), and maybe the era.
