Hello,
Can anyone advise me of the issue, whenever I try to raise the ground level in the route builder the dreaded message ''Something bad happened'' appears.
How do I go about fixing this issue?
Cheers,
Pete

Hi Pete,
it could be one of many reasons or even a combination of factors so before we can really help we'd need to know your system specs, how you went about creating the route in the first place and exactly how you're trying to raise the terrain.

Have a look at http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 7&t=129308 it might be the problem you have described.
Today - 21 Dec - RSC have released an update http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 7&t=129308
- Fix HUD on min-spec graphics cards
- Fix bloating scenario properties XML
Having updated the system I'm just verifying the Local Files via Steam.

That's graphics capabilities built into the CPU, not a discrete graphics card and as such is a little on the weak side. If you're selecting a large area of terrain to work on it's possible that you're over-loading it and it just gives up.Pete92 wrote:...and Intel HD 3000 graphics card.
In the editor, when you click on the paint brush in the top left fly out to access the terrain tools does it instantly crash, or is it when you actually start to work on the terrain?
If you move your mouse to the lower left of your monitor the bottom fly out will, well fly out---in here you can set how big the area to work on is, it's the first figure and if you hover your mouse over the 3 squares icon to the left of the value you'll get a wee box saying "Brush size". Make a note of this value, then change it to something lower, possibly even start off with 10 and see how you fare then.
EDIT: Is this a laptop, or a PC with an IvyBridge i3?, as far as I'm aware they're the only i3's to feature HD3000 with the 'standard' Sandybridge i3 offering HD2000 which is even weaker.

Its on a laptop.
I tried reducing the size of the area but it still didnt work.
How do i know what scenarios are in use and which are copys?

Re: 'Something bad happened...' when trying to create route
As you're on a laptop it'll always be a bit pushed, and I'm a bit stumped regarding what to suggest next.
And now I'm confused.... the scenario in use is the one you'd be playing, any copies of scenarios would (unless renamed) show as being a copy. Of course that isn't exactly what you're asking so the best thing you could download for investigating the innards of the game is RW Tools -- http://www.rstools.info/rw_tools.htmlPete92 wrote:How do i know what scenarios are in use and which are copys?

You could try running the game at a smaller screen resolution, in a window---see if that makes a difference. Might be worth having Task Manager running at the same time to see if CPU usage or RAM usage (unlikely really, given that you have 6GB but theres the chance that your GPU might try and grab too much) spikes when trying to edit your route.

Cheers for you help. Im now sorted. It was just the template I was using! Started again on a new one now:)
