OK, heres an unusual one for you, just tried to add some smoke/steam effects and get this...

I have run the route through RW Tools and it cant seem to figure out whats missing, it just lists all the items and doesnt narrow it down

The top one is the textures missing from the smoke.

OK, new problem, all my trackwork has vanished scenery is still there but all my interactives are gone, I have a backup from last week, but since that backup I have done a heavy amount of scenery work and minimal trackwork, what is the best way I can salvage this? can I just transfere my scenery files from this version to the backup?

It should not be a problem to take tracks.bin plus Track Tiles folder from one version (the backup) and stick it into the Networks folder of the other version (the new, but broken one). Of course, you will move the Track Tiles folder there away before the copying or else some random tile might survive causing not much but data garbage that could cause issues a few programme versions later.

RobertM

Looking very good - parallels with my own concept that I have just started working on.

Are the scenic / building elements all stock from other sources, or custom?

Particularly interested in the mine site equipment, pit headgear and coal stockyard / slag heap...

ETA - Re the "yellow smoke" = high sulphur coal ?

The mining structures come from the 'J94 'Memories of Maerdy' Pack from steam. The rest of the items are purely freeware from UKTS as individual downloads or the UKTS freeware packs.

The only thing that is 'custom' is the LMR signals, which I have been testing for the Chaddock guys on my other route, I quickly threw them on to give a feel for the place, but I suspect they shall be either removed or replaced at some point or other.

Hope this helps

And the route is now back as was, minus all the interactives which I'm putting back in as we speak/type.

Thanks. I have the Maerdy add-odd, so that should help

The collieries on my route were closed in the 80s / 90s, so wouldn't feature for a current scenario - but I do want to make a back-dated version. Some of the Maerdy buildings will work, but some of the key buildings around the winding gear are quite distinctive....

There is also the considerable matter of the coking works - which is derelict, but still in place

Just to keep you all informed, the route is still going (just) scenery is just about done, going to get Esthwaite signed off ASAP and then I can make the last push with this route with track rules/signaling & other bits and then onto the next route

Hi Robert,

This looks fabolous, are you considering to share this route if/when it's finished ?.
I'm spending a lot of time on the Maerdy, and this is just my kind of branch line. Thumbs Up :) .

Wow - Congratulations on the new job 8)
Why couldn't the steam loco sit down? - Because he had a tender behind.
