Evening everyone,

Has anyone noticed that the Radius Rod on the left-hand side of the loco is missing?

Yes, it is.
I was wondering when someone else would notice.
DT actually have a pic showing the fault (Pic No. 6 of 11)
The radius rod only goes missing when the loco becomes the player loco in game, it's ok in the editor and the loco is ok in free roam until you choose it as the player loco.
Merry Xmas

Just tried the DT 4MT update I received today and I'm very happy that it now has it's own couplings instead of using the Kuju ones, thanks DT 8)

Yes that's brilliant... i hope they carry it through to their other stock
Why couldn't the steam loco sit down? - Because he had a tender behind.

Still missing the radius rod on my PC though. Still, I can't get over how much of an improvement the walchaerts animation is compared to the abysmal original, makes it really nice to watch from the sidelines. And thanks to DT for correcting the brake handle application direction.

So, if you've bought the original 4MT, you have to buy this upgraded version as well? I can't see how to get it otherwise.

I got the update link emailed from DT yesterday and installed it but the radius rod is still missing, anyone else agree? The motion (that apart) is better but a bit of a cheat as the return crank doesn't lean forward at bottom centre.

Yeah as I say, it's still missing. I had noticed the return crank being in line with the wheel radius but I thought it was still such an improvement over the previous version that I'll let it off. :D I don't know the exact angle it should be, but I do actually wonder how many modelers realise that the return crank is positioned so as to create a right-angled triangle between the wheel centre, the con rod pin and the end of the return crank. If you know the exact length of the return crank then by basic trigonometry you can model it exactly.

Yes, the left-hand radius rod is still missing, even though DT expressly state that this 'update' fixes the issue.

Hopefully this finally banishes the missing rod.

I'm still wondering if the new version has to be bought again if you bought the older version. I wrote DT to ask, but they just sent me a link to the old version.

The 2013 version requires rebuying if you didn't buy after they changed the site and checkout system as the older purchasing system as far as said didn't have the option of being able to mass email customers and some other technical issues, while the one they use now does. DT did introduce the new version at a lower price for a short period or still do (not sure haven't checked site) due to the swap over to the 2013 version.
