All DT locos appear to reference the default Kuju couplings but I don't recall having to tick the Kuju box before - perhaps it's only a requirement for newer routes with self-contained folders?

I know a lot of people will be using the kuju folder with their routes anyway for all the rollingstock and other assets. I have been trying to keep my Woodhead route Kuju free, It takes at least 3 times longer to load with Kuju ticked. I notice some other Developers no longer use kuju couplings.

I thought the whole point of making a loco "2013 compatible" was that it was totally self contained... doesn't make any sense
Why couldn't the steam loco sit down? - Because he had a tender behind.

Can't see much difference here, and running TSX mode. Rain effects and slight fire glow, and added discs are there though.
No steam shooting out of the safety valves at blowoff, some devs seems to do this, like the J94 etc, seems a bit strange with the quaility
now of loco's this is always left out by some dev's.

I do get steam from the safety valves. I don't like the whistle, where a short "toot" is all you get, and the boiler pressure in the F3/F4 and F5 displays is 60 psi different! I've dropped them a note about the last item.

Yes I get constant trickle, cosmetic steam from safety valve, but not shooting up as other locos when it hits the release pressure.

The whistle sound is the bane of my life at the moment. I'm the same as you, I don't like it. But finding a good recording of anything other than a short toot, without any ambient sounds, and getting permission to use it isn't easy, at all. I've tried various methods of getting a new whistle, no success yet, but it will be updated, at some point. Unless somebody on here has a recording they'd be happy for us to use?

I personally like the 4MT 'Toot' whistle, but it would be nice if a longer whistle could be added (as a second whistle sound) using the "B" key, as Matt (922120 )as done on many of his Loco sounds.

Small question, has the updated model actually been released yet?

Yes, it's available at an introductory discount at the moment from the DT website and is worth the money because you get some non-corridor Mk 1s as well. They also have some other DLC on sale at the same price of £3.99.

I purchased the update on Saturday and have to say I'm pleased with it. The model looks great and while there is a whisp of steam at the safety valves theres no big tower of steam when the valves lift. This isn't a dig at DT as there are an awful lot of models that don't model this and those that do don't model it realistically (check youtube to see the jet of steam from lifted safety valves on any mainline loco).

The only thing I will question is the water consumption. A full round trip of GCR v2 with no injector use and the glass still reads over 50% which I think is rather low. Even on the Icy Wires scenario I found myself only using the injector a couple of times. I see DT have sharpened the brakes up and they feel realistic (against real life experience).

All in all worth the full price money let alone the introductory offer.

Bravo DT

Excellent update - worth £3.99 although I hope I'm not going to have to reinstall every time Steam updates? There must be a way Steam allows the user to delete or stop individual reinstalls thereby trating the purchase from DT as a completely new addition?

Just as an aside, the only 2 issues seem to be:

1. In cabview the left hand cabside is fragmented and disappears as I pan left

2. The vacuum brake handle is still working in the opposite sense ie It should APPLY the brake when pulled towards, not release it!!!

Is there any way to fix this for the quick starts etc? I.e can I somehow add the kuju assets to the route by default?

Thanks

Merry Christmas to all.

I purchased this yesterday, really good update to my original steam purchase. My only issue/gripe is I expected the southern region late crest example appearing with no number to be fixed too....but mine isn't. :-?
