Bruce,
1. You now have another email with more bits and bobs in.
2. Well done its looking very good. And i look forward to seeing the final result. Will be nice to eventually distribute Alice class hunslets with thier own cabs.
3. One thing that has struck me is that on narrow gauge engines the drivers view is quite high so the camera should be a lot higher, id say in line with the top of the firebox.

Work with the cab is progressing, but I really need more photos (perticually of the top part) before I can continue. Pitleyfalley: the camera angle has now been changed so that you look down on the firebox. Since the screens I posted I've started again, so it looks a little different now!

looking good i think the cab sides are a bit thick though. All we need now is some authentic Hunslet sounds.

I'm afraid the cabsides won't thin! The only thing I can do is start again and I don't think I can face that!

The program I'm using is PTC ProDESKTOP 2000i2, which is (for a 3D design program) easy to use (thank goodness!), a disavantage though is that it is only for rendering 3D pictures, and so doesn't export to TrainSim
. Are well, good for cabs!

I learned Proengineer at university and its a very good program if a little unstable at times. I am presently using Prodesktop by the same company which is the 'lite' version because i could aquire a copy to use on my computer. I too wish I could export directly to MSTS but the best solution i have found so far is to draw components in prodesktop and export them as vrml files which can be imported into 3d canvas. My biggest problem is that my computer does not get on with the MSTS Engineer plugin and so I have to build everything by hand and I am still trying to fathom how to get MSTS to accept objects from 3d canvas. (See my other threads for details) Its nice to see that if the loco modeling does not work I may be of use in building cabviews.!
Cheers
