Just Trains-YGB Seacow and JJA Autoballaster advanced

Post by almark »

Hi all,

We have now upgraded the YGB Seacow and the JJA Autoballaster to be a part of our "Advanced" collection:

YGB Seacow(£5.99)
The Advanced operating features give you individual control of the ballast drop doors - stand on the wagon's rear platform, rotate the individual control wheels and see the ballast actually come from the wagon. These are controllable on a left/right side of consist basis.

More info:
http://justtrains.net/product/ygb-seacow-pluspak

JJA Autoballaster (Currently on offer at £4.49,reduced from £5.99)
Advanced operating features include individual control of the ballast drop doors (you can see the ballast actually come from the wagon), and ballast drop floodlights which can be controlled from the remote control pad when you stand on the platform at the back of the wagon.

More info:

Those of you that already own either of these wagon packs just need to re-download them (for free) from our website and you will gain the new advanced features.

For owners of the Class 60+Wagons Pack:

You will also get the upgraded YGB wagons once the Class 60 update is rolled out in the near future.

Regards,
Mark

Nope, still installing the old one despite installer actually saying "Advanced"

This thread is a combination of the two wagons/more of an official announcement.

Regarding the files for the JJA....it's currently being investigated.

Still has the old files on the site under my downloads. I'm certain they are the old ones because the files are dated the same as the originals.

Well, that seems to be correct? At least that is what I was told in no uncertain terms when I said just the same and was accused of misleading people!

Although no files (only folders) have a date change it does seem that things change as far as the 'animation' goes. To test it place a JJA wagon with an engine on it and make it a driver. Start the 'scenario' and from the 'driver' change to the rear cab view. On the back of the wagon is a control panel with clickable switches! The Seacows have 'movable wheels' on the rear.

Now if only they had put out a new manual or even a text file yada yada yada ... but as I was told by a member of their staff, they do know what they are doing.

Go figure

Thanks T54, I'll try that. The only time I tried was without an engine using the JJA with a generator (ie own power). Nothing happened.

Having downloaded the files afresh, as per instructions from Just Trains I can confirm that the downloads accessed via your account from previous Pluspak purchases are still the old ones.

I have just brought the Advanced versions and these downloads are much bigger than the older ones so ....

JJA_Autoballaster.exe Pluspak is 39704 kb in size
JJA_Autoballaster.exe Advanced is 52341 kb in size
YGBSeacow.exe Pluspak is 33686 kb in size
YGBSeacow.exe Advanced is 43934 kb in size

All the files Pluspak and Advanced were downloaded in the last 30 mins (as of 2000hrs 15th Dec uk time)

Appears something has not yet been sorted by Just Trains

Have a read of previous messages in this thread - there appears to be no visible changes to files as only folder dates change. However there is a change to the operation of the wagons; again previous messages refer.

A couple of weeks back I redownloaded all my JT stuff to clear up my backup folder due to it getting very untidy with updates and patches.
My YGB and JJA downloads now both are the size you've stated for the 'Advanced' version. No repurchase was necessary
For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it ;-)

Correct Phil - and for the sake of good order - these two updates were free to previous purchases.

Well thats very strange then because I downloaded the files as per the instructions on JT's website just prior to my last post and still got the smaller files. Only when I made a purchase of the advanced version did I get the larger files. Not too bothered about paying again as I had enough points to bring the cost down.

Oh and I still can't get the doors etc to work yet. I've connected an engine and given it a driver but when I hit "alt" and "=" it only changes ends in the loco and does not go to the wagons or gives me an extra panel for them. Coming out using the "8" key, as one does with points etc does not do anything either. So not sure where I'm cocking up.

Check you are 'coupled' to the wagon(s)?

And that youve put the new versions down, they are classed as engines as opposed to wagons.

Yes I am coupled but I've been using them from the wagons menu so appears that could be the reason. I'll go to the engines menu and try again. Thanks
