You will need to insert the master key, and cancel the AWS before the train can move.

You need to read page 6 of the Class 57/0 Diesel Loco found in \railworks\manuals\EN.
Follow steps 1 to 3 (if Engine running) before you use a controller or RailDriver.

Should be entirely driveable using a gamepad - push the bell button to put the key in. One situation where the manual seems to be underselling the product!.
My posts are my opinion, and should be read as such.

Remember that if you are trying to pull away on an incline/hill, you need to use the loco break before you release the train break... Just like a real life class 57!

Took me time to master it, but here's how you do it when the engine is already running.

Starting on inclined track:

- insert master key
- reverser into 'Eng Only'
- cancel AWS self test and DVD by pressing [Q] and then the [E] key.
- put reverser into forward
- release the train break to around 40% applied
- engage the loco break to 100%
- release the train break fully
- apply throttle at notch 1 or 2
- release train break fully
- apply throttle to notch 4 straight away.

By now you should be moving forward and can increase throttle when ammeter needle falls back into the green range (leaving the needle in the yellow and red range will cause wheelslip and eventually traction failure).

Hope this helps!

Question from me about the 57... how long does the de-rate light take to go off from a cold start? So far I have waited 10 mins and the de-rate light is still on...

The time before the light goes out will depend on how hard you are working the loco as it's temperature dependent.

Hmm... I have it standing still, over half hour later its still hasn't gone out

Can you run the train with it on? it says you only get half power?

Yes, you can. The amps won't go over a certain figure until the light goes out but note that you have to close the throttle and reopen it to pass that threshold afterwards. It doesn't run up to a power level above the limit automatically.

Just like real life... The De-rate light was the hated thing of some Freightliner Intermodal drivers(from what they have told me)...

You can just leave it in notch 5 & open up fully when the light goes out.

That doesn't work for me, believe it or not. I drove it today and if I don't throttle right back the revs won't increase any further,

This is slightly different. Before I buy this, how would people rate the Mk1 coaches compared to the DT ones?
