activity editor keeps crashing

Post by rosschris10 »

Hi all

Whenever I am trying to create an activity in msts activity editor whenever I zoom in on the track map it keeps crashing. If I place 2/3 locos as consits it crashes

I have heard if I change my colours from 32bit to 16bit this stops this crashing

Is this true or is there an easier way to make activitys without it crashing. It gets really frustating

From memory (which can sometimes be faulty), the 32bit to 16bit change is necessary, depending on what version of MSTS Bin you're running.

I would suggest trying changing your desktop to 16bit colours and see if that helps. I suspect that it will.

Hi,
Reducing what loads in AE helps.
Click the 'view' button and un-tick anything you don't really need to see.
I've found the worst culprits for AE crashing/freezing is signals and (sometimes) sidings/siding names enabled. If you really need to see them, un-tick, zoom to where you want, and the re-tick.
Might help but no gaurantees.
Cheers

Hi
As Bob said, change your desktop to 16bit. If you are using Windows 7 don't rely on it changing automatically for you, mine never did.
As Clive said having things like siding names ticked in view can also cause problems.
Thanks.
