It's still odd that they removed the original 57 pack when it had only been re-released after being updated for not much more than a month.

The new pack is essentially just a reskin with some reskinned coaches in my opinion, I already have the original pack, so I won't be buying.

... and it's not 'essentially just a reskin' either. There's quite a few changes under the bonnet as well as some useful new functionality as a driving aid to supplement / replace the F3/F4 HUDs.

Not convinced, I'm still not prepared to pay £11.99 to find out.

Blimey , that "Early Birds" scenario has you sitting at the ribblehead viaduct for aaaaaages, boring. Must admit though that Dave has a fair point, a discount for previous versions would have been a nice customer friendly gesture.

Not convinced here either! If the existing 57 was dated or rubbish then they might be able to justify the 11.99 price tag. As it is though, the existing 57 is one of the best loco's in the game so no incentive to fork out 12 quid for a reskin and a few extras.

Over-priced in my opinion, 5.99 might have roused my wallet into action but even then it would be a tough call.

Except...
  • It's got a new cab.
  • It's a mostly new exterior
  • It's got new physics
  • It's got new sounds
  • It's totally rescripted
And of course it's got new paint. So... if that's "just a reskin" then the JT 67 is "just a reskin" of the RSC one and you should be writing to JT denouncing them for flogging a repaint for a full price item.

Couldn't Oovee just have reskined one of there existing 57s into Rail Tours Company maroon livery? That would have saved a lot of time than building a brand new loco what they already have. They should have spent the time on building other variants of the class 57, the 57/3s and 57/6s. Why has this not been done yet?

Only 6 weeks to wait and that's exactly what it'll cost :)

Of course as you haven't bought the new pack you've already admitted talking out of your arse, so 7/10 for the troll.
Make that two pints, he he. To be fair to oovee they have made a cracking job on the loco and it is definitely more than just a reskin, however a discount for existing would have been nice.

They could have done....if they had one to re-skin. The older Class 57 is/was by Oovee.

I imagine Kariban will be having many a cheap night out after that wonderfully eloquent and insightful post---in fact, I'll buy him two!!

Like all DLC items, if you can't afford or justify the asking price you're under no obligation whatsoever to make the purchase. You're also entitled to your view that it isn't worth the money, but it only needs stating the once. Please guys, let's not have another thread descend into tit-for-tat arguments about what should have been done for how much, but move forward and discuss the merits and any faults in the pack, then from that discussion those who may be finding it hard to justify buying it can make an informed decision.

To change the topic just slightly, and I feel a little embarrassed asking, but earlier this year I went on "The Hadrian" tour pulled part way by the Duchess of Sutherland. There were a couple of helper diesels in maroon for parts of the tour. Does anyone know if these were the Class 57 in this latests DLC? To me they looked like Class 47's, but then I had only eyes for the Duchess  Just wondered.....

Has anyone tried setting up their own TSR in a scenario yet? I can't seem to be able to find all the necessary signs. I have found the flashing emergency warning board, the diggers are there, the temporary AWS magnet is there and the TSR commencement sign is there, but I can't seem to find the TSR warning sign with the speed on it and the TSR termination board.

Anyone have any clue?

Thanks.
Callum.
