errors on start up

Post by rosschris10 »

hi there i was downloading some trains routes etc from this site however i had allot of errors when starting up train sim usual stuff like cannot find train 334/****.EXE/Bmp etc etc

so i deleted all my routes trains consists etc and deleted train sim and reinstalled it to clear these errors so i can start again

however after 2 full removals when i reinstall train sim i still get these errors and cannot seem to get rid of them

is there a way i can completly remove everything so when i reinstall train sim i dont get these errors

i have manually deleted folders etc but still these errors appear after the start up screan has loaded its really annoying

many thanks

You need to post the exact error so we can understand what's happening.

I am at work just now basically when I click the icon to load the sim I get the splash screen

But when it goes to the load screen just before you get to the main menu screen I get pop up errors along the lines of:

Error:train/trainset/class344.exe

This happens for about 9 trains. If I click ok all the time they disappear and go to main menu. If I click cancel. Train sim closes down.

I have tried to delete everything and re installed train sim however these keep popping back

It only seems to be the download content that I have this problem with

You made the fatal mistake by deleting MSTS you should have asked first about the 334 problem, what you have to do is uninstall MSTS using the disc, the go to the train simulator folder where ever you put it and delete that, you should now have nothing on your computer to do with MSTS,if any thing is left delete it.

Now completely reinstall msts and the bin patch, ukfs, new roads,X tracks,

Which 334 did you install 3 of them you click on the installer exe,to put it into trainset/consist folders, also did you down load the cabview for it.

...And of course take notice of the OS you are using XP, Vista or W7, and install appropriately.

And please give complete error messages. Simple words like Find or Load have a bearing on any answer.

Good luck

Hi Ross, on the 28th October 2012 you posted asking about downloading Freeware from Uktrainsim and
in particular the 334, my reply dealt with the Cabview problem but unfortunately you never answered
the question I asked and didn't get back telling us if you were successful.
It is obvious that that you are still having problems otherwise you wouldn't get these error messages, you
must tackle one problem at a time and only re-install MSTS as a last resort otherwise unless you clear all
extra non default files when you start again the same thing will keep occuring.

OK thanks.
In that case go here for install procedure:-

http://msts.steam4me.net/tutorials/installing_msts.html

-:and get the Six Default MSTS Routes running perfect on your system before adding any other Rout or Stock.

Good luck

Hi Ross,
Are they the complete error messages? ie there's no mention of Line numbers? If so, it would suggest that you haven't installed the required stock, or it's not installed correctly.
If Line numbers are included in the messages, it implies that MSTSBin is required, but not installed.

Whatever you do, PLEASE don't delete anything - you'll only end up probably making matters worse :( :o

Cheers,
Ged

Hi

Have you MSTS Bin patch 1.7 or 1.8 ?most new down loads these days require bin patch installed line errors usually means it's not, train data base message could mean you haven't installed all the stock required.

Please what ever you do do not delete MSTS any more,it is ALLRIGHT, it is stock problems you have got.

Oh well. It takes all sorts to make a world. Not the first and not the last to try their hand with MSTS :)

Good luck with the day job.
