Re: Dublin to Cork
Thanks Brendan, I would guess it's middle of the range, 3GHz CPU, 3.25/4GB RAM as I have WIN XP SP3 installed at present and a 1GB ATI graphics card, I deleted a lot of sound-domes in all of my routes which has certainly helped with tile loading, etc.

Re: Dublin to Cork
I ran the new version with high details and TSX on with a 1st gen i7 and 8GB Ram in Win7 and it ran pretty smoothly with only the occaisional tile loading stutter.
I would have thought that with some details turned down it should run with TSX on for most people given the recent improvements to the game's performance.

Many thanks to all who tested the route for me. Your comments have been very helpful and I will over the next week or so fix the various issues that you identified for me.

Re: Dublin to Cork
The route has now been up-loaded to the library and is awaiting approval. If there are any issues with installing or running the route, please post here. One issue, to which I have no immediate solution, is that two former Railsimulator packages - the foliage package and the Phorum Penninsula Charity route are apparently no longer available to new users of TS2013. I used assets from these packages, and in particular the foliage package, in various places throughout the route. It would be almost impossible to replace these with alternative assets even with RW Tools. Their absence will have a visual impact on the route. I am also unclear what has happened to the RSDLClass66 locomotive to which the Irish equivalent, the GM201, is aliased. I presume it is still available, but I was unable to find a link to it on Steam. If this turns out to be an issue I will need to find an alternative to the Class 66. I would emphasise that these issues should only affect persons installing the route for the first time and who had not installed these packages when they were available. I would like to hear from any such person to ascertain the actual impact of these changes.
A further point to be noted is that the upgrade to TS2013 resulted in deletion, at least in my case, of some assets that early developers, including myself, put in the Kuju folder. If this is an issue, it can be fixed by re-installing file 27518 (Assets for V.3 of Dublin to Cork).

Re: Dublin to Cork
I'm driving the Cork-Dublin scenario and really enjoying the route. You seem to have included every field, hedge and wood in Ireland but it runs perfectly with TSX.
The only thing I noticed obviously missing so far are a series of bridges between Cork and Mallow.
RW-Tools shows these missing assets which must contain the bridges and some buildings
Brendan\IrishRail\structures\bridges
Brendan\IrishRail\structures\iebuildings
I know the scenery folder also has a structures folder but they arn't in there.
Also some Scania vehicles by news which I can't find and I have his trucks packs.
I searched my ext HD where I've saved assets from 2010 and everywhere else I can think of for the bridges but no success.
Great route all the same and I hope to get to Dublin tomorrow. That's a really long drive !

Many congratulations on finishing this epic route - it has been one of my favourites since you started. The assets I seem to be missing are below. If you can help that would be great but the route is already top notch.

Re: Dublin to Cork
Yes. Thar's the ones I can't find. I never did work out how to copy the list from RW-Tools.
Where did you find the missing Scania items from news ? They aren't on his site afaik.I'll look again but I only find 2 truck packs.

Re: Dublin to Cork
Sorry about the missing assets. I don't know how I managed to miss out those. I have them all and I'll get the up-loaded as soon as possible.
Thanks for the positive comments on the route. If the missing assets are the only issue, I'll be very happy.

Re: Dublin to Cork
I have now uploaded a small package with the missing assets which should be available in the next day or so.
Thanks Chrisreb for your comments (and also for helping with testing the route). The section you mention has scenery as far as Birdhill, but there are still about 40 more miles left. However, I now intend to focus on the rolling stock - and especially new CABs for the GM201 Class, the Mk4DVT and the class 22000. I am starting with the 201 - after Christmas!
I just checked the 3D Trains site and it works for me, When you go to the site from the link in the 'read-me' document, you need to log in and you will be re-directed to the download for the low resolution version of the foliage.
ICE's assets were included with the V.3 assets package - file no. 27518.

If you can give us a list of those missing we can point you in the right direction. Did you get the pack from the German Railsim site?Clemmo47 wrote: Where did you find the missing Scania items from news ? They aren't on his site afaik.I'll look again but I only find 2 truck packs.

Re: Dublin to Cork
I have just driven a free roam from Cork to Limerick and I must say I can see why this route took five years to create, it is very detailed. The view from the cab feels so real, the amount of foliage track side and the many custom buildings made the journey a real pleasure. Only issues I experienced were a few missing road bridges on the line from Cork to Limerick Junction and I need to get all the rolling stock as the standard scenarios did not load due to missing items. But this is an outstanding route and I'd like to thank the creator for all his hard work.
