1. Re-name Assets folder (e.g. AssetsM or AssetsMain)
2. Verify local files on Steam - this will create a brand new assets folder.
3. Install route assets and any required rolling stock.
4. You will probably find the route now runs
5. If so then you can swap between the Asset sets by simply renaming the folders i.e. Assets to Assets something else and the AssetsMain back to Assets.
6. Later, having ensured you keep a backup, you could add other problem routes to the new Asset set.
7. If it mucks it up just reinstate the backup.

Yep - advice still good - tried just a separate Kuju folder which works with many other routes but these ones need a full separate Asset folder and perhaps content folder.
So again, let me get this straight from what I read above. Is it just a case of re naming the Kuju folder , contents folder, as well as the assets folder to something like Kujumain,Contentsmain , Assetsmain etc and then do a verification. Steam will then create fresh new folders for each of them and reinstall what is missing ? Then its just a case of slowly installing the problem routes and checking as you go. Correct ?

Too much faffing about, I'll just wait to see if the route author comes up with a solution.

John, just visited your site to have a look around and to download the route.

All 4 asset packs downloaded without a problem, but the link for the route gives an error, with each seperate language.

Sorry.

The download of the route is disabled for the reasons explained here → http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 1#p1595171

Yes that is correct. The route author may not be able to 'fix' what sometimes just turns out to be too many assets to run hence the need to split the route out with a reduced asset set. Still no harm in waiting. I am lucky and have it working so easy for me to say

Thanks for taking the time to explain Chris, but I think I might just hold off this for the moment. It is an awful lot of work involved here and then once done I persume that every time you want to use a route that doesn't work with one set of assets you have to rename from one asset folder to the other all the time. One click and play is the way to go.

cheers

It is best to wait a bit, because the solution is near to arrive and you will not need to make those changes so complicated.

Juan, many thanks for your reply, I must be honest and admit that I had missed that. Sorry to have wasted your time. I will keep looking for the correct version being able to download.

Juan, Pasquale, Hi chaps. Just wondering how things are progressing regarding the fixing and testing of the route? Looking forward to being able to use it again soon.

Ha ha, a man after my own heart! RSC do not actually recommend the use of third party addons unless it's authorised by them or through steam. So its a case of "at your own risk". Pity really there isn't any cooperation between RSC and 3rd party developers, oh hang on, didn't they employ Matt from off here for that purpose!

Hi Antony, hi guys.

The route is ready to put on my server. I just have to wait for a permission I need from SAD (route and asset builder).

This version is a bit slighter ( in regards of p/ps selected ). Either it works ---> GREAT...

or

1. You have to run RWTools (latest version) and remove unused p/ps. (Although I removed them and saved the whole route which will be soon ready for download) If it works --> GREAT...

otherwise

2. You have to create new folders for your 3rd party routes (reason is probably your KUJU folder is to big). Works? --> GREAT

No other solution until today and probably RS.com fix something here...

More informations about 3rd route problems here: http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... &sk=t&sd=a

Ciao, Pasquale.

I have gone and moved my ever increasing sizeable Kuju folder out of the assets folder into a new storage folder within Railworks and done a Game verification to let steam install a fresh new Kuju folder in readyness for what may or may not work.
Have also put a copy of this newly downloaded Kuju folder into this storage folder. What I find time consuming is having to copy over between the two each time when you change routes which dont work with either one or the other. Does having the two Kuju folders together in the Assets folder work fine, and a lot quicker if you rename them from one to the other each time you need to swap them ? ( I hope this makes sense, as each time I read over it seems as though it dose'nt)

Antony.
