More SBHH errors than TS2012!

Post by RobertM »

Since the update to TS2013 I have noticed that the sim seems to be more unstable than it was before the update with regard to freeroam scenario creation.

I have spent the morning making a free roam for the GWSR route, only to find after I had placed all my locos and static stock I get a SBHH error, so then I go back and start again, placing 1/3 of the stock then starting the scenario, works fine so add another 1/3 to the act, only then to get a SBHH error and no way to revert back, so I give up.

I then turn my attention to my Esthwaite route, same thing, again, add some stock, run, fine, add some more, then SBHH, but this time I am able to get into the actual scenario via playing it from the main menu, all the stock is there, nothing is missing, but the second I go into edit mode, SBHH again.

Why has TS2013 gone a step back here? I am really regretting not backing up my TS2012 and not updating to this
Cheers, Robert :)

I'm guessing the usual 0Kb detection has been done?

thanks,

I think alot of SBHH errors in either TS2012 or 2013 are caused by low end systems. I cannot remember how along ago since I have had a SBHH error since upgrading my system 7 months ago as per my signature.

I've only seen a few. Some on Bremen Hamburg (known bug with the route) and then me leaving a 0kb file hanging about. Otherwise better than RW2012.
If only all problems on the big railway could simply be TAB'd past...

I haven't experienced any SBHH since upgrading, never really experienced that many before either.

I have experienced SBHH Errors when placing a Class 31 on the London-Brighton route (The one included with the TS2013 pack). I can place 5-BELs, 377s and other units, but placing that down and clicking on it in the free roam closes the game and I get a SBHH error. Now, it seems to work if you only run it Light Engine, but adding coaches closes the game.
It's probably why it's not being included on Steam until an update, but it's only the Class 31 that seems to have problems.... It's very strange.

Hi, it sounds as though it has some Kuju dependancies - probably couplings, so you will also need to tick the Kuju box in the scenario editor as well as the RSC 31 pack.

Sorry, been away with work since Monday...

No, how?

Wont be that, this is a fairly high end system I'm running currently

What are the specs of your system, your 'fairly high end' could be terrible compared to my 'fairly high end'.

Have you emailed RSC Support, they know a lot more about their game then we will ever know. It's also good just to make them aware of a possible issue.

Intel i7 2.85Ghz, 12GB RAM, Gigabyte GTX570 1280MB DDR5.

Emailed RS.com 3 times since Monday each with SBHH error reports, but so far have only had the automated response

We assume that with 12gb of ram you are either running Vista or Windows 7 64 bit. Every bit of info about your system helps others to try and solve your problem.

Robert,

I have several third-party routes that would run under TS2012 but SBHH under TS2013. The solution for some of them has been to make sure the the Provider/Products selected for the route are exactly the ones, and only the ones, that are required for the route. It appears that TS2013 is "pickier" than TS2012 and will SBHH on errors that TS2012 ignored. (See the GCRv2 Release thread.)

Robert, for what it is worth I have found TS2013 to be far less buggy than TS2012?!

So, to your problem. You say you have tried making a scenario for two routes - have you been using the same stock for both or completly differnet sets? If the same then I am certain the problem lies in a faulty file/path in one of the stock asset files. Trial and error checking is the only way forward here but well worth it to stop it happening again in the future.

Maybe you could expand on the exact stock you are using so we can replicate what you are doing?

Robert, I notice nobody responded about how to check for 0 byte files. You can do this with RW Tools. Select edit assets, edit assets, then you will see a button find zero bytes files. This will initiate a search, can take a while if you have a large asset folder. when finished select all and delete. Strangely since moving to Windows 7 64 bit railworks seems a lot less sensitive to 0 byte files for me, although I do a clean-out every once in a while, it will still run with a few in there.

Hope this helps
