Removal of DLC from Steam...why?

Post by rgreenrail »

I have noticed that just about half the DLC on steam for TS2013 is gone. But why? I have bought the SECML and was looking for prototypical stock. I own the 156, but the 158 and 170 aren't there. You can buy the 170 but are forced to get it with E2G, which is over twice the price. Surely this is just RSC shooting themselves in the foot, as such widely used stock as the 101, 08 and 66 are also gone. Isn't this missing out on revenue etc?

Any ideas?

Some are being upgraded, others the stance appears to be buy it again as part of a route package (158/66 with S&C and 08 with Woodhead)

All the DLC removed the night before TS2013 are being checked and redone to ensure that they do not have any reference to the default content which is no longer provided with new copies of TS2013. Since all the scenarios would be effected aswell as some parts of the rolling stock they had to remove them from the store to sort them out. The negative is at the moment those who has TS2012 cannot aqquire certain stock items, like yourself, after making more recent purchases, however in the long run the DLC will work with everyone so its less hassle for RSC in the end and in turn less hassle to purchases prior to TS2013 with multiple bug fix updates which have the potential of breaking something else or having other DLC unrelated to the removed items also dissapear.

I suspect after the 10th of Oct, when the Munich route and the deluxe edition are out the way with we will see RSC show to focus upon the DLCs removed and give further information. For the time being they are most likely still bogged down with support emails and getting through the new release fallout which always happens around a version change.

While it is annoying, I'd suggest holding back buying E&G for the 170 and wait for the 170 to return in full, since it is a 3rd party addon is more likely to have a quicker return than some of the RSC products removed aswell, so fingers crossed it shouldn't be to long.

I have just bought the class 325 and 33 off steam, but they are not loading, just giving consist errors same as other people, so this error seams to be a wide spread thing. Why bother putting DLC back on steam....when it does not work..... :x

I think I have worked out why certain DLC does not work, for some reason the .NCF file is not present in the steam directory, thus not telling railworks that you have bought the said item, even though it shows up on your list of bought items on steam.

So, we have to wait for RSC to release a patch?

I already have all the DLC listed on this thread (Apart from the 87  ) , and they work alright in the game for me, so is it only people that are buying it new that have a problem?

Yeah, only new buyers have this problem, must just be a simple issue of RSC not giving steam this one file....I hope so anyway....
