How come the original colour light signals show up in the 2D map, if you're trying to trace the progress of a train, say, and the newer signals don't seem to be visible ?? It's interesting to be able to see the lights change back to red, from green or yellow, but not now, when they're not visible. Any way to make them visible apart from reverting them back to old-style signals ??

Re: How Come ?
Jim,
There are a couple of reasons why this could occur.
1. Have you checked that signals are selected to be visible in your 2D Map? The check this select 2D map click on the monitor icon in the top right hand corner and see if there is a tick in the box to the right of the semaphore signal icon. If not put one in and signals should become visible again.
2. the other way to make individual signals invisible in 2D is to change the "Stopping Flag" in the signal blue print from "True" (visible) to "False" (invisible). This is unlikely to have happened though as it would affect the whole way the traffic would run.

Re: How Come ?
I've noticed that routes which contain individually numbered signals like WCML don't have the aspect on the 2D map. Probably something to do with the signal labelling.

Re: How Come ?
It is due to a missing entry in the route template blueprint. Basically, a field named "Map" was added to this blueprint at some point, which determines whether the newer type colour light signals will appear on the 2D map. With WCML at least, this field has not been included, hence the signals don't appear on the map. May also be the case with the Portsmouth line

Re: How Come ?
Jim, you raise a really important point here.
I too have noticed on WCML and Portsmouth the signals do not display their state NOW in Woodhead I thought they did, a little cross with a colour, but as you can see from the three pics none of these routes display a colour, really difficult when sorting or playing scenarios.

I believe this is to try and stop cheating in career scenarios?

Re: How Come ?
This is correct, no signal states are displayed on any maps or drivers' aids in Career System scenarios. The reason why they do not appear on WCML and Portsmouth is because of the reason stated in my post above.phat2003uk wrote:I believe this is to try and stop cheating in career scenarios?

Re: How Come ?
Does that mean
(a) they could be put back into the .bin file
(b) Woodhead used to show the signals in colour didnt they. ?

Re: How Come ?
I did try to get the WCML signals to show on the map without success at one point. Theoretically it's possible I think; I wouldn't rule out me making a basic mistake though.
Not sure about Woodhead; haven't looked lately but in non-career scenarios they did show on the map previously.
