British Railway Documentaries

Post by Kimril »

Im looking for some good British Railway documentaries, not about steam locomotives but diesels and modern trains and after looking for ages I can't seem to find any. Does anyone know of any good documentaries or tv shows about British trains?

Thanks

Hi,
Have you tried the BTF dvds, there are quite a few films involving diesels and electrics. They are quite old now though as they stopped doing them in th early 80's...i think. Other than that try You tube thats usually got something on there.

Excellent DVDs but bear in mind that stuff wasn't recorded on HD Video in those days so the footage is as good as that which was shot at the time.

You want to do some Google searching, British Pathe News did some excellent videos from the 50's - 80's, sadly I can only find this one at present, but, have a look on t'internet, you'll be surprised what you may find.
