Travel by train in Sweden: Stockholm Central

Here are a few photos from Stockholm Central station. The station is the very heart of the Swedish rail network, with almost all long-distance services terminating, originating or passing through. The station offers direct connections to most Swedish cities, as well as Copenhagen in Denmark and Oslo in Norway. The station is also the main interchange station for Stockholm´s subway, and it is also located next door to the main bus terminal. The station have 18 platform tracks (track 1-19, track 9 has no platform) and over 1100 trains use the station every day. More than 450 000 people use the station every day. The station opened in 1871 but it has been rebuilt several times since then. It is currently going through a major refurbishment wich is scheduled to be finished in 2013.
