Chasing Yellows update

Post by asfinmja »

From facebook:
Chasing Yellows update! Thanks to all of you who have sent feedback on the Chasing Yellows scenario on the Oxford-Paddington route. We have made some changes to the timings to resolve the problems many of you have reported involving an unexpected AI train on the line outside Paddington Station. We will be making this update live very soon. Thanks again to everybody who reported this issue and we hope you will once again enjoy Chasing Yellows.

No mention of putting back the Steam Locomotive tutorial scenario?

At least previously it gave you a chance to use the Emergency Brakes :)

Ahhh, the irony! I gifted TS2012 to a friend I play with in TF2 as a gesture of thanks as he treated me to drinks when we met up IRL. Talked him through Chasing Yellows just a while ago - he actually managed to stop his train before a collision, really good for a first-timer! Told him to restart, and hammer it immediately.

This fix is unusually quick for RSC so well done to them! Now, if only they fix the scenarios from the coveted WCML-N...like removing a buffer or two. :P

Funny, my steam loco tutorial was missing but has reappeared (if you mean 3. Driving a steam locomotive with expert controls)

Steam most likely.

As far as I am aware, it is the fix I provided which is going out, so if you really cannot wait and are competent in the scenario editor, here are the instructions....

I just tried this scenario yesterday and managed to complete it with a green tick in the box when finished. When I first started it and waited until the time to depart I ran into the AI train blocking my path just out of Paddington. I restarted it, only this time I departed almost immediately. This got me past the section of track before the offending AI train arrived and from then on it was plain sailing all the way to the finish.

Steam just updated my Chasing Yellows scenario.
Anyone on the inside track know what the fix is?
I have a full evening planned and won't get time to check it.

Seems to work ok now. I just left paddington and was diverted over the points thus not colliding with the other hst coming in.
