Cardiff Valley Lines

Post by akazim344 »

I was wondering if anyone had already had a go at this, or whether it was still in the works? Only I think it would be great if someone could pull this off, being all the lines in and out of Cardiff Central going to destinations in the Valleys such as Merthyr, Treherbert, Coryton, Barry, etc. I think this would be the perfect route, as we've already got pretty much all the stock, like the 142, the 150, 153 and also sometimes there are 37s pulling MK2s.

Just wondering! :D

I was having a go at doing Cardiff Central - Barry Island in Route Building Challenge 3. If I have time I may restart it, maybe in the next couple of weeks?. Getting photos shouldn't be a problem as I live near that line. :D

That'd be a great one, although I think the entire route extends up to either Merthyr, Aberdare or Pontypridd, from Cardiff Central. I reckon this would be excellent, although Cardiff to Barry would be just as good - gives an excellent chance to test the new 142 from Waggonz on its home turf :D

Many thanks

I was working on Treherbert/Maerdy-Cardiff set in the 70's with third rail but I put it on hold to practise my route-building skills. It is a large project and there is the appropiate stock to run on freight and passenger duty. 101/142/150/153 to cover the modern era. And the 56/57xx tank engines and the upcoming railmotor for the "Vintage era". This is partly what made me put my route on hold. I can't just decide the era I want
