I changed track on the Ox_padd line from Default to Lanky_004......
The track changes covered the whole of the route, and in my opinion it does look better.
However , it has introduced a problem with the EAX effects, which are now prolonged to point of being annoying.
Does anyone have any idea what is causing this ? could it be the Track ? ...I have gone into the editor and "checked\scrolled using space bar" the track and the spots that should be purple, are exactly where they should be .
Thanks
Brian

Re: Problem after Changing Tracks
Keep your knickers on

Have a look in the bin file for the track and see what sounds they reference. If they don't reference the same sounds as the Ox Pads ones you will have problems as you won't be able to swap out sounds on track not referenced on the Ox-Pads track rule.
You could clone the track and include identical sound refs in the bin file and swap out and it should work.
004 is my track of choice, but slightly odd choice of chaired rail for a modern mainline
Hope that helps

Re: Problem after Changing Tracks
Knickers firmly on ....lol.
Thanks for the advice, although im not quite sure what im looking for , or at ......
Do i look in the tracks.bin file ? or do i look in the Lanky_004.bin file ?..(neither references any sound that i can find )...I looked in the .xml files as well ...( im obviously missing something )
or is it the blueprint editor i need to look at ?...........
When looking at the track in the editor i am unable to change any sound at all (which makes sense as the lanky004 does not reference any sound , ) ( i think ).......
Sorry for the dumb questions, but we all have to start somewhere .
Thanks
Brian

Re: Problem after Changing Tracks
Its in the lanky004.bin file. Compare it to the bin file of the ox-padd track you're replacing and see what the sound references are. The sounds you can chose for a track are dictated by what sounds the bin file of the track refers to. If you have track in a route that is not included in the track rule that the track was laid with, it won't allow you to change sound properties.... (same issue as using multiple track rules... best to avoid!) It will keep the sound properties of the track originally laid PROVIDED the bin files of the new tracks have the same sound properties. I think the lanky ones don't, which is causing your problem.
So your options are:
1. clone the track, copying the sound properties from Ox=Padd track (preferred)
2. clone the ox-padd track rule, add lanky track to it, swap out the track rule in the tracks bin, manaually sort the sounds out in the world editor.

OKayyyy............found the references, copied and pasted over to the Lanky_004 track.bin file , (im assuming thats what needs doing )
But still unable to change track sounds when in the editor....( it just says "UNCHANGED" )
Do i have to change the trackrule.bin file as well ?
Thanks
Brian

Re: Problem after Changing Tracks
Hallelujah .......Finally got it to work,
Copied sound reference files to Lanky_004 (taking care to copy and paste from "TrackBedRumble"...(deleted from original first )...
went into editor , changed from allTrackrule to OX-Padd default, ...
Loaded my own scenario , and all EAX effects are working as they should ........
Again ...Thank you very much for your help
Cheers
